I try to live like the good Samaritan and follow the Golden Rule. I know I can't change the whole internet, but if I can help even one person, I see that as a success. The problem is in your definition of "helping" one person. To me, it sounds like you want to censor someone. I think I'm usually quite friendly here, but that doesn't mean I don't value the freedom to be unfriendly when someone wants to. How many of your "bullying" reports have been deleted by Mods? If you understand LoyceV very well, you will realise that his definition of freedom is quite different from yours. LoyceV believes in freedom, even if it has to go against him and his desire. If you support only the positive aspect of freedom, it means that you want to censor someone. I am just thinking if LoyceV actually practices this even in real life. It could be brutal if given someone the freedom to be an asshole, an idiot, a bully or a gentleman. When I came here newly, I expected everyone to behave decently, but I was just disappointed at a time. But it didn't take long to understand that allow freedom of speech is one of the best things that happened to this forum.

I support freedom of speech, but that doesn’t mean it’s okay to be disrespectful or to bully others. If you wouldn’t do something in person, you shouldn’t do it online.

Why are you guys letting what random people on the internet say about you become significant? All he can do is talk. Even if he somehow speaks about your insecurities, they're just words, and he is miles away from where you are, so why are you giving so much power to a person who knows nothing about you? Except that the person is making an allegation against you, everything else he's saying in the form of an insult is not significant. If you cant match the energy, simply avoid.
I have had people on the forum insult me directly and call me names. I simply muted and avoided the ones I could, since I am the "bigger person" and can't exchange words with them. I can't start running to the principal's office whenever someone insults me on the internet. Their opinions about me dot matter. The only time things like this can be taken seriously is when the person is making an allegation against you. Something that can damage your name (or in this case, your account), then you can respond.
The internet, like Bitcoin, is free for all. Lunatics, retards, geniuses, criminals, and law-abiding citizens are all free to use the Internet, so you can't expect it to be a cool-headed place. You just got to filter what you take in and what you take seriously.

After considering everything that’s been said, I agree with most of the stances presented here (Alot of good/practical advice from members here). That said, I lean toward Howard’s side in this discussion. While there might occasionally be justification for being mean, trolling, harrassing or bullying, such cases are rare and often ineffective in their execution. Respectfully, there’s always, most certainly, a better way.

Report CyberBullying on the Forum
If you have experienced or witness cyberbullying, such as harassment, threats, or abusive content on the forum, report it to the moderators so they can help maintain a safe community.
Without any fear or favour, I will say this is needless because that is what we owe the community as members of this platform, and if you ask me, I will tell you that the moderators are super active here, coupled with members who constantly report unnecessary posts, as you have opined here. I will also implore you to do the same since you already made this post, and as a member of this community, you owe the platform this responsibility of acting in accordance with what you have said here. Thank you for your feedback

You hit the nail on the head. Reporting isn't just a suggestion; it’s basically the only way to keep the place clean. The mods can't read every single thread, especially in a massive community like this. When a user reports something, it instantly brings a hidden problem straight to the attention of the people who can act. It’s the community's way of being the eyes and ears, and it definitely makes the moderators’ job effective and not just reactive. Thank you for your feedback

That's what the "Report to moderator" button is for. Thank you for your feedback

That's what the "Report to moderator" button is for. How about in a situation like the concern raised by the OP, where the threat is not directly sent through the PM, comment or on any visible thread where the "report to moderator option is available" but has been added to the users' trust page? How do you report such to a moderator as I can remember reading about someone complaining about such thing in its trust page or that of another. Thank you for your feedback

Actually, the trust is not moderated. Q: Why isn't trust moderated? A: Feedback isn't moderated (except for obvious cases such as pure advertising, hundreds of identical empty/gibberish reports on one user) for the same reason as scams - too much room for abuse.
Therefore, it is useless to report any negative comments on the trust page to the moderators. Only two people can help edit the trust page: theymos and Cyrus. Thank you for your feedback

How I wish it's as simple as that, the moderators will highly likely do nothing. Bitcointalk is the forum I know that tolerates it the most, which is not good. But it has died down a little, which is a welcome development. It's bad to the point that a legendary member here, instead of rightly directing newbies and some higher ranks with minimal mistakes, he would rather start bullying and insulting them unprovoked. I read, I laugh, I walk away. But I often wonder why people are that mean in this vanity world. Thank you for your feedback

People are already going through a hard time in real life and it will be awful that they come online to get attacked with bullying and abusive words from a fellow forum member, it can be depressive.
On this topic to get things straight. Does sarcastic statements also fall into bullying and abusive category?
Thank you for your feedback

The forum is for patching things up, learning, and doing business, not for putting up with a "toxic" person who thinks they own the ad. Thank you for your feedback

Abruptly moderators has always been active in responding to required posts and contents in the forum without compromised. I also like the fact you pointed it out to the Op letting him know that he is not limited to also act as surveillance in respect of keeping the community clean from threats and oppressions because, it is everyone's responsibilities to do so but on the contrary I think the Op was on the verdict of letting newbies know about it that they also have the right to report users who are on the wrong moves because if you watch, newbies had mostly been on target for scammers because they are believed not to had been experienced in the forum and also, some of the oppressive users of the forum had mostly been attacking lower ranks because they are barley defensive. So you can give this a thought why the thread is of essence. Thank you for your feedback

About sarcasm I'm more on this page (didn't put much effort to search for where this "meme" originated): https://www.etsy.com/listing/1123028495/sarcasm-primary-elements-of-humor-tLoosely adapted, if you find traces of elements of S, Ar, Ca, Sm, primary elements of humor, giggle, put them in a beaker, heat, stirr, do some chemistry and see what comes out of it. And btw, never do chemistry without safety goggles... As others already said, grow a thicker skin, don't rent your head space to mean people for free. In many cases it's best to simply ignore them. Common internet knowledge: don't feed the trolls (with your own agitation)! Trolls love to feast on others. Just don't let them play their malicious games by engagement. Thank you for your feedback
