Christmas is a time for essential gifts, not for bitcoin.

We all know that festivals are a beautiful combination of real-life needs and human joy. New clothes, good food, watch, small gifts on Christmas Day are what make the festival come alive. Those moments of living give us peace of mind. And we also know that bitcoin is undoubtedly a valuable digital asset but should we invest in bitcoin instead of everything on the day of the festival?

Festivals are about people, about the needs of people's daily lives. These gifts of clothes, food and daily necessities are what make the festival joyful/peaceful. Bitcoin should exist with its own importance but not as a substitute for the human joy of the festival. Recently saw a post on our local board centered on the Christmas festival, which mentioned that instead of gifting various types of clothes, food, watches and other daily necessities during the Christmas festival, bitcoin should be gifted. Bitcoin is valuable but it does not seem acceptable to influence our festivals in any way.

If someone wants to personally gift bitcoin to everyone's happiness and keep everything in order, that is their personal matter, there is no problem with it. Based on these thoughts, I would like to know what you all think. Feel free to share your opinions.

I do submit that it depends on the person that you are gifting the BTC to.

If your community seems to own cryptocurrencies and they prefer to have it as their respective gifts, then I see no obstacle in following their request. But if you live in an area where cryptocurrencies are not that popular, then gifting BTC to someone who does not even know what it is in the first place would be futile and superfluous.

You said it on your last sentence. At the end of the day, happiness is relative- some would prefer to have a huge celebration; while others may seem to be content with receiving gifts or money in the process. What is important is that you cater to the request of the person you're giving a gift whether it be money, cryptocurrency, or even throwing a huge celebration for Christmas.

Asking questions about Christmas and its rituals will get different answers from
different people and how they perceive what should be done.

IMO, Christmas has been hijacked by big business in order to sell us stuff we dont
necessarily need. Its gotten to the stage that as soon as Halloween is over its straight
into Christmas marketing and as a boost before Christmas there is Black Friday,
and then they couldnt get enough so they had to expand it to Cyber Monday, all
in an effort to siphon as much of our money as possible.

Part of Christmas might be about giving gifts but it can be something small and
thoughtful.

I would rather keep the watch I have and not buy a newer one and keep my Bitcoin
in my wallet, and I do that with nearly everything which is marketed at me.

I am not trying to be the Grinch here but it is not a must to celebrate Xmas with anything that's Bitcoin related, like how many people can be boost of gifting Bitcoin to people or people are just making up make believe stories? Bitcoin isn't this cheap to be gifting away as Xmas presents, people who should be doing this are millionaires and billionaires.

The idea of getting Bitcoin as a Xmas gift is great but I don't expect anyone besides the likes of Mr Beast or Alex Becker to do something like this, not people who don't even have 0.5 BTC in their Bitcoin wallet.

Christmas will pass, don't go and do something that you will later regret, don't spend money that you aren't supposed to spend, and 2025 Christmas won't be the last one either.

Let everyone celebrate Christmas the way it pleases them. But one thing that should be taken note of is, if you must gift bitcoins to anyone this Christmas, make sure such gift will be given to someone who truly appreciates it, he will value it do much and be grateful to you for ever. If you gift bitcoins to someone who needs groceries instead, he will not treat it like something very valuable. Christmas is the season of love, spread the love the way they understand it better.

It's up to the person whether they want to give Bitcoin or not to their loved ones on Christmas, each person can decide which is best for them, and the most we can do is support their decision by understanding that whether they want to give Bitcoin or just an item, that is their best decision. I don't think something like this should be taken so seriously because in the end, whatever is given, it depends on our sincerity and good intentions to the person we want to give it to, and that is far more valuable than any form of the gift.
