Hello everyone, just want to share a simple tool that’s pretty useful if you often post on Bitcointalk.
Sometimes we need a BBCode image so the picture can show up in the thread, right? Now you can use ImgPeek, totally free and super easy to use.

There are others services like imggur and imgdb as well.

But i believe there is no problem in having alternatives. However,  talkimg works better than any other here

Here, I'll introduce more online image editing features, beyond image hosting. That's what I offer at imgpeek.

I'm sure it's far from perfect, but I'll be developing more image editing features. The concept is Upload->Edit->Store to Storage->Share.

Its new website likely for uploading picture in bitcointalk forum and give us alternative after usually using TalkImg and right now we can use other website ImgPeek. I tried this website for uploading my first picture in bitcointalk forum based on what the OP said, many benefit get by using this website but I worry with our picture existing permanent or some time could be delete how latest moment with any website many picture uploading in bitcointalk forum already deleting. I forget what the name of that website and seeing many previous post uploading image using that website already deleting.

We already have a better image uploading site and that's TalkImg.com, and that site works very well for Bitcointalk and for other forums. But still since you've created a site that could be useful, I appreciate it fully, but I'll still be using TalkImg.com as that has been working well for me and that's why I'll stick with that one. Best of luck with your hosting, I hope you may make it better overtime.

We should have 2 to 3 alternate options. Because if for some reason TalkImg.com goes down then we can use the alternate options if we want. I am also developing an image hosting platform for my own use. If the images are on my own server, they will be safe and will not be deleted. So I will develop one for myself.

it's not deleted, just the older images don't display properly since it's a proxy issue. If it's deleted, it must be the image hosting that's doing it (except for banned images to post).

talkimg can be closed anytime by the owner so if there are alternative sites for Bitcoin forum community, it's good. At least with imgpeek, now we have two image uploading and hosting sites for forum user community.

Some of these alternatives don't show up on bitcointalk posts though. For example I remember imgur changed some stuff a couple of years ago and it became unusable here (ref).

In any case, I checked this one and what I was looking for was the upload size limit which seems to be 100 MB per file which is more than enough and better than talkimg.com (2.5 MB) which can be useful although I'm not certain if bigger sizes (gif files) show up in posts here or not. That's a challenge I've faced before trying to convert to gif, needing to keep reducing the quality so much so it fits.

Using an alternative is easy, the main problem when an image host disappears is the fact that many old posts lose their images. That's what happened to 801,550 images from imgur.

@OP: you're not very active on Bitcointalk. How likely is it your image host is still online 10 years from now?

Yep, anything larger than 2.5 MB will not be displayed here, I think joker_josue did adjust the size to the image limitations that BCT can display.
Perhaps the op service is also not specifically for use for this forum only.

Thanks for the introduction of this new tool we can use in addition to the already existing ones from the likes of talkimg and so on, this will enable us to have alternative to host our image in case of any uncertainties, just as we see it happened times back when imgur took their leave from the forum, before we have talkimg being more prevailing ever since, yours will also serve it purpose and i want to believe many will as well consider it, am going to also archive it for future benefits.

There are many options for users to choose from. There is a resizer, compressor, and converter. One good feature is the language preferences.

I've checked the creation and expiry dates, if OP wants to gain trust on his platform he needs to extend the expiry date, the worst thing that could happen is for your platform to go down and with all the images created and posted here also vanish

I'm eager to learn about the additional editing features that will be added in the future... I did a small test with the converter and noticed something unusual with transparent PNG files ^{[usually, when I convert a PNG into JPEG, the transparent part turns into a white background, but on ImgPeek, it becomes black]}. Is it supposed to be like that?

There's more to webhosting than just the domain name, which could very well be set to auto-renewal.

As is currently the case, both login and no-login options are always available, tailored to your needs. If you value privacy, I'm sure you'll prefer no-login. However, if you prefer to save your history, the login option will.

You're not wrong, but you're not quite right either. An expired domain doesn't always indicate how long a site will last. Generally, newly launched platforms will try to register a domain within a year first while monitoring its future development.

it depends on the platform, if in ImgPeek it focus on file format if you try the Converter feature.

Your last sentence spoke the truth - if you get no donations an no one signs up for your API, the one year point (when it comes time to spend more money) is when these sites usually drop.

I don't plan to compete with anyone, I initially created this solely for myself because I use it frequently. While I don't currently generate any revenue from ImgPeek, it's entirely funded by my own money, and I plan to see it grow over the next 3 years.

I mention "totally free" because I'm on the Bitcointalk forum, which is generally for regular user and not aimed at developer.

You are competing with talkimg - every user you get makes his cost per image more expensive.  If it's just for your own use, why make an announcement?
