Once leaders stop looting and actually care about peoples welfare, half of our problems are already solved. And corruption really needs serious punishment, not slap on the wrist, but real jail time, so others can learn.

The president can not realistically carry everything on his head. If states are empowered and accountable, citizens won’t even need to complain as much because they will see real results where they live.

A day our political representatives will stop stealing public funds and erasing selfishness in there thinking in Nigeria is what I can't see coming very soon. Party defection is just noise at this point. Governors moving from one party to another doesnt put food on anybody's table or fix insecurity or improve people’s lives, it only shows how unserious our leadership has become. Corruption is clearly the root of the problem, and everyone knows it, but as many in power benefit from the system staying broken, nothing is done about it. So anyone who genuinely tries to fight corruption is treated like a threat and pushed out or frustrated until they conform. Nigerians are tired of political games, what we just need are leaders who will focus on security, accountability, and service, not politicians constantly changing jerseys while the country keeps bleeding.

To be honest Nigeria is far from working again, because this adoption of democracy is making things worse and worse everyday. We see so many countries practicing this democracy and to be honest they are seeing progress because transparency work within them. In Nigeria we are lacking transparency and not because of anything but personal interest, our leaders only laugh with us when the election is around the corner but after that, they rulers as an autocratic leaders in democracy country.

The only way Nigeria can begin to work effectively as a nation with developmental mindset is when our leaders become more selfless than they are selfish now. It means our leaders have to stop the looting od public funds and genuinely care more about the welfare of their people than of themselves and their family. We also need to be more serious about corruption which has eaten up our political environment. Any political leader who have been caught stealing public funds should be allowed to face the real consequences without any fear or favour, including jail time and not just the usual media noise we only hear. I also think the idea of state policing would help us become more grounded security wise only to say we don't even trust the state governments will do justice to them when they are created. Before they will go and train people on how to hold guns and chase criminals then leave them jobless after a while and then resort back to crime too. Also our states need to be given the capacity to generate their own electricity and manage key sectors while our local governments are also allowed to function properly with allocations coming directly from the federal government purse like it does for the states. This is what it means to be autonomous and it is this true autonomy the country has been lacking and still currently lacks.

The Nigerian Democratic system does not prevent one from joining any political party of his or her choice, the system allows one to freely join any political party of his choice at any given time. That is not the problem facing Nigeria right now, the Major problems Nigerians are facing just like you rightly said is just corruption. The system is really corrupt, those piloting the affairs of the country are really corrupt and with the look of things I don’t think This will stop any time soon because even the next generations are learning from this men who happened to be their so called political godfathers, they are taking the footsteps of their godfathers and we all know that the Nigerian Government is all about Godfatherism, if you don’t have any then you can’t win a political election or occupy any position in the government, you must go in line with the directives of your political godfathers.

But he didn't say deflection is the problem, but looking at it critically don't you think it's one of the problems? Here's why, every government needs to have oppositions, they help check balances. Now imagine the president summits a bill with a particular outrageous figure, the opposition will sit back analyse, come to a conclusion and counter such a bill from been passed to law exactly as it was submitted. Opposition helps put pressure on the current government on certain areas of the economy. When a system is just a single party, you see things go so wrong, whenever you listen to whatever that's going on in the national assembly, what you will be hearing is, on your mandate we stand. That's because there's no single opposition that has weight. You remember back then when when PDP was still in power, we all saw the kind of pressure APC put on them and for that reason there were certain decisions they couldn't implement because of the strong opposition as at then. You think this new tax by President Tinubu would have held if the country had a strong opposition, hell no. There's no opposition, they will just sing in your mandate and that's it.

For me I think all the governors that are defecting they never believed they can become governo and they never won election by votes, they were just selected.  The governors who were voted in by the people are not intimidated by the ruling party,  let's take for instance the governor of abia state, he understands the power he has because he was being voted in by the citizens of the state, he wasn't rigged into power. Most of the governors we have are selected that is why they are scared and not sure if they can still make it again but they are so sure of rigging thst is why choose to prefer t defect to the rullkng party.

In my opinion I don't think this country can ever get better, or maybe not in this generation or even the next. The politicians defecting from one party to the other is not for the betterment of the country,  but for their selfish interests to protect their wealth and also to remain in power. The politicians really don't care about the people, but only themselves and their family,  so they will never do anything in the interests of the people. I pity those that still have hope in this country,  because this country is hopeless and helpless.

With current deflection that is ongoing right now, were Governors are still deflecting to All Progressives Congress "APC"  that is still in power that the majority is going through hard time since they took over government, i believe that with this series of deflection Nigerian will not be better anytime soon because no is ready to build Nigerian in a better place but to follow the corrupted people that don't think about the society survival, without knowing and remembering the promises they made during election campaign.

The reasons for governors defection from one party to another is not for the benefits of citizens but for there own selfish interest, without being remorseful for the wrong they have done instead they encout there wickedness with the shadows of others mistake by providing open criticians and detailed evidence about then all just to make us forget there past.  Nigeria we see have been faced with different heart killing challenges which are : insecurity, hardship, constant inflation, lack of electricity and so on. How can a country that can not provide 6 hours electricity to his country burst of giving other countries some years of interruptible electricity, is it in the aspect of insecurity which we all know is one of the major issues affecting the society that is why the president or governors travel with up to 100 vehicle at one all for the sack for providing confusions to some terrorist

Na only during elections or campaign dem care about we citizens.  Bad infrastructures, no good health care, education is poor , prices of things are very high. Is this how we are going to continue?
