I feel like most of what you mentioned is even magnified when you gamble; in a sense, it becomes worse.  
Unless you're Elon Musk (or someone similarly blessed with money), you would always think of ways to win when gambling, and with every loss that's going to plague you, pretty sure your anxiety rises too.
Probably the only possible benefit you get when gambling is the adrenaline rush you get when winning a bet, that feeling of euphoria, but it's always a short-lived feeling, especially if you don't know when to stop.
So, No. Stressful modern life definitely isn't gonna make someone do more gambling; I know I wouldn't. I'd rather be at the beach frolicking.

I disagree. In my opinion, online gambling is not a solution to life's stress. Instead, it creates new problems, even bigger ones, as money runs out and thoughts become heavier. Life's difficulties aren't solved by gambling, as it's clearly detrimental. A healthy escape in positive activities should make us better, not further trapped in gambling. Therefore, in my opinion, online gambling is not the answer to the pressures of modern life, as it's merely an illusion of relief, with far greater risks.

I dont agree with factors OP mentions to be reason why gambling becomes part of modern life. If we compare what were people doing 20-40 years ago and now, then today people spend most of their time in gadgets and usually alone. Any activity that can be done without going outside or contacting people IRL (or have little contact) becomes appealing today. People have forgotten how to socialize. Online gambling is only one of activities that can be done alone and it is entertaining. Anything that meets criteria of alone and fun will be appealing in modern life.

It is so funny how you feel gambling will make someone escape anxiety, is this really an irony or you are being serious because gambling doesn't really do that unless when you make profit or win from it that you can somehow escape anxiety but the moment you start losing money you will begin to feel depress and frustrated because human being don't like losing money especially in that form ( gambling). Anyone who gambles for fun, to cure anxiety and relieve stress should have a full pocket and not one struggling make ends meet. There's every possibility that you would lose more when you gamble with no strategy, and no desire to win but rather for fun than when you actually gamble to win.

It has been said so many times in Gambling Discussion section of this forum that the main purpose of gambling should be relaxation, taking a break from hard work in order to work more effectively afterwards. I partially agree with the reasons you provided but it really varies per person.

You have to look it into all angles and factors on why people gamble in the first place. With the ever developing world and modern complexity of the technology, people would eventually shift to an online environment because of the convenience it provides. With that being said, people gamble because of various reasons like the ones you mentioned OP. We cannot categorically rule that people gamble because life gets more stressful. You should also consider other factors as well, such as the convenience it provides and other reasons as well.

There are some who prioritize enjoying their few moments in gambling over earning money. There are some gamblers who are motivated to gamble even if they lose money, which is very enjoyable for them. I will say the reason why most gamblers do gamble right now is just to earn money, most of them are not gambling for fun. If people can stop earning from gambling, most people are going to stop gambling.
