MakerWatch.space
Tracking physical bitcoins and crypto-collectibles on the blockchain

Hello everyone,

I am excited to announce the early release of MakerWatch.space, a new tool designed to monitor the status, funding, and activity of physical crypto-collectibles.

As collectors, we know that tracking the history of these coins is vital. While we have had excellent tools in the past, many have gone offline or are no longer maintained. My goal with MakerWatch is to provide a modern, community-driven dashboard that makes it easy to visualize collections, track "peeled" coins, and get notified of blockchain movements in real-time.  MakerWatch is free software and is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.

PLEASE NOTE: This is an early release. Features are being added weekly, and I am actively looking for feedback and missing address lists.  There is a very easy to use feature for adding additional coin releases described below.

Key Features

  • The Watchlist Dashboard: A high-level view of the physical crypto market, tracking Total Locked Value (TVL), active spending, and treasury stats.
  • Real-Time Event Feed: The system monitors blocks for activity. If a tracked coin moves funds, it appears on the dashboard immediately.
  • Priority Alerts: The system automatically flags "Severity High" events, such as when a series loses significant funding (peels) in a short period.
  • Makers Gallery: A visual index of makers and their series. You can sort by release date, funding amount, or recent activity.
  • Smart Search: Quickly search by Bitcoin address or Serial Number to find which collection a specific coin belongs to.

--- Dashboard Preview ---

The main view showing the coin carousel and summary stats.

For Developers & Automation

One of the core focuses of MakerWatch is open data. You don't need to refresh the website to stay updated.

  • Telegram Channel: Subscribe to the official MakerWatch Feed on Telegram to get instant notifications on your phone or desktop for every new transaction and priority alert.
  • RSS Feeds: We provide a public RSS feed that includes both transactions and priority alerts. You can plug this directly into a Discord bot (like MonitoRSS) to get a ping in your server whenever a physical coin is peeled.
  • Public API: JSON endpoints are available for developers to fetch recent events or query specific collections.

For full documentation and endpoint URLs, please visit the API & Tools section of the site.

Visual Gallery & Inspection

You can drill down into specific releases (e.g., Casascius Series 2) to see a breakdown of Funded vs. Peeled coins. The interface supports filtering to quickly identify empty addresses that were previously funded.

--- Collection View ---

Detailed view showing funded status and serial numbers.

How to Submit a Collection

This database is only as good as the data we feed it. If you have a list of addresses for a Maker or Series not yet tracked, please submit it!

I have built a submission tool that allows you to paste raw text lists. The system will automatically parse out Bitcoin addresses and serial numbers and let you preview the data before sending it for review.  Once submitted, I can activate the collection with just a couple of clicks on the back-end.

Simple collection submission interface that parses addresses/serials.

Credits & Inspiration

I want to express my appreciation to those who laid the groundwork for tracking physical crypto:

  • Raghav Sood: His work on Collectible.money was the gold standard and the primary inspiration for building this replacement.
  • Minerjones & the Bitcointalk Collectibles community: For their work on Bitcointalk maintaining lists, organizing history, and keeping the community safe.
  • Naypalm (uberbills) & Anduck (anduck.net): For providing and maintaining additional tools that have provided several years of valuable tracking information for Casascius and BTCC.

Please let me know what you think! Bug reports and feature requests are welcome.  I am also open to collaborators who would like to serve as a 'contributor' role, and I can grant access to curate and maintain collections.  If you are interested, just send me a message.

MakerWatch.space Changelog

This post will serve as a running log of updates, new features, and bug fixes for the MakerWatch platform. As this is an early release, expect frequent updates as I refine the detection logic and add new address lists.

Current Version: v1.0.0 (Early Access) Release Date: December 2025

ADDED
  • Dashboard Stats: Added global counters for Total Locked Value (TVL), Active Spending (7-day), and total tracked Makers/Series.
  • Live Ticker Carousel: Visual carousel on the homepage showing the most recent 20 events (funds sent/received).
  • Priority Alerts System: Automated detection logic that flags "High Severity" events (e.g., significant peeling of a treasury address) and displays them in a dedicated alert box.
  • Makers Gallery: A visual index of all tracked collections, sorted alphabetically or by funding.
  • Smart Search: Search bar added to the navigation. Supports searching by partial Bitcoin Address or Serial Number.
  • Public API & RSS:
    • Added GET /api/public/recent-events for developers.
    • Added feed.xml RSS endpoint for integration with Discord bots (MonitoRSS) and feed readers.
  • Submission System: New "Submit" view allowing users to paste raw text lists. Includes a client-side parser to preview addresses and serials before submission.

CHANGED / IMPROVED
  • Navigation: Optimized mobile navigation menu for better accessibility on smaller screens.
  • Performance: Address lists for large collections (10k+ items) now lazy-load to improve initial page load speed.

Upcoming / Roadmap

  • Advanced filtering for specific years (e.g., "Show only 2011 coins").

Awesome work, first look and feel of the website is very smooth!

I think you can relatively easily scrape the Moonbits data from here: https://github.com/LIMXTEC/MoonBits

One question: Is it / will it be possible to have a personalized dashboard to track (your own) funded items?

HODOR.
