Well, It does to some extent because sometimes why people fear to take some kind of risk or make some sort of investment is just because they earn a very small amount which is not even enough to take care of their basic needs not to talk of having the thought of investing part of the money.

But if you earn a reasonable amount it make one to balance clear your debt in a short time and make good financial decisions but to that that earn less it’s not easy to go about this they always struggle with debt months to months so there is no way to think ahead.

Earning more only helps if discipline is already in place. Otherwise, higher income just means higher burn rate. Seen it too many times—pay raise comes in, lifestyle inflates instantly, savings stay at zero.
The “more money” mindset ignores behavioral finance. If someone can’t manage 1x income, they won’t manage 5x either. Like you said, money doesn’t change habits, it reveals them.
Wealth is built quietly: budgeting, patience, long-term thinking, delayed gratification. Not flashy upgrades or status chasing.
Fix mindset → fix habits → money sticks.

It’s true that having a higher income doesn’t automatically solve financial problems in most cases. However, for people who earn below the average, it’s completely understandable that they hope an increase in income will improve their situation. The real issue becomes more frustrating when individuals are already given the opportunity to earn a proper or stable income, yet they consistently spend more than they earn.

The basic requirements for building wealth such as budgeting, saving, patience, etc seem simple on the surface. In reality, they are very difficult to maintain over the long term. Discipline is the biggest challenge, and it’s something many people struggle with, regardless of how much they earn. Without self-control and mindful financial habits, even a good income can disappear quickly, while those with strong discipline can slowly build stability and security over time.

It is not just about earning big because I have seen people who earn a reasonable amount of money but the problem they have is how to spend wisely which they just feel since the money is enough they can just spend and get what they want. The truth is that money will always finish whether you earn big or not and do you know,  the more yoh earn the more responsibility you have,  the more demands you need money to solve but what matters is how you can be able to manage money.  If you are unable to manage money even when you earn big it will be difficult for you to save and invest your money.

If money alone made people wealthy, salary increases would end poverty. We live in a society where people believe the solution to financial struggle is simply “more money” ,"so much money", "plenty money."But history and everyday life prove otherwise.People earn more, yet their bank accounts remain empty. Why?Because income without discipline is like pouring water into a basket.

When money increases, lifestyle often increases faster too,new phones, bigger houses, more outings, louder status symbols, irrelevant expenses Instead of investment starts rising.Instead of wealth growing, expenses grow muscles. The problem isn’t income;it’s habits.
True wealth is built through intentional choices: budgeting, delayed gratification, investing, and understanding money psychology. Those who stay broke after earning more didn’t upgrade their mindset, only their spending.

Therefore,More money doesn’t fix poor money behavior. It exposes it.More money fixes cash-flow problems. It does not fix character, habits, or thinking problems.Fix the person, the habits then the money follows and stays!
I agree with you on many points. As your income increases, so do your expenses. There's no limit to spending, and many people spend according to their income. Whether your income is low or high, you can save money and make money from your money in a disciplined way. To achieve this, you need to know your habits. And you need to cut back on unnecessary expenses.

By cutting back on expenses, you can save and then watch your money grow. This is really not easy, because spending is easier.

Absolutely right. And I noticed a pattern: when I started earning more, I wanted to buy myself nicer things—not just in terms of quality, but because I wanted to feel richer and more prosperous. But that didn't make me happier. So, every month I started setting aside less money for myself than the previous month. And I saw that, in principle, I can save very well. I started noticing promotions and discounts, and I managed to save 25% more, while my standard of living remained practically the same.

So I absolutely agree that a person becomes rich not only when they earn more, but when they begin to see opportunities to save.

With those save money and good management of your finances you'll see the big difference between those days that you feel that you can afford to spend more because you have spare from your extra earnings or an increase from your salary, most of those who failed to acknolwedge that not because you earning extra you also need to increase your expenses, or you can do what rich people doin terms of spending money, that will only lead you to embrace more expenses than saving your hard earned money.

It depends , the current inflation practically doesn’t allow you to save. Money is worth less and less, and if you hold onto it for too long, it loses value. It’s okay to save, but in my opinion not for too long. For big things, such as real estate or something similar, it’s hard to save up anyway. I definitely agree with you that the more you have, the more you tend to spend

If I'm being asked what is the hardest thing for me in this life? it is money, making money is very hard and the most easier thing in life to me is spending, spending money is very easy than anything you think of, for you to achieve greatness in life there are a lot of sacrifice that need to be done, this is why earning more doesn't solve problem because the more the money the more problems to solve. But if discipline is there it Conquer everything and you will be able to achieve your goal without any stress. You can see some people are earning less and they are achieving more goal than the people that are earning higher, the strategy that is there is just financial display nothing else.

When we have a low income but we can still manage our money well, then it will make our situation safe and secure, even though we may not be able to do something outside the fixed budget every month. But if we have more income and we can't manage money well, then problems will still arise.

Not that we have to choose one of the two things I said above, but we should be able to do both. We try to have more income and we can manage money well, so we will definitely live comfortably.

So I absolutely agree that a person becomes rich not only when they earn more, but when they begin to see opportunities to save.
It's because that there are high earners that don't save and invest with what they have. So it still doesn't make sense that all high earners are rich. Because many of them are swimming in debts and they don't know what to do because they're not good in their own financial management. Saving and investing cost people a lot of delayed gratitude but it comes from there and eventually, these people that have the discipline in their finances are the ones that are living well regardless of how much they earn because they're saving and investing and take every opportunity that they see.

Yes, Your point is based on reality about earning money with discipline. As we know if we have a lot of money but we don't use it properly then it feels like higher income with no wealth. If we save our wealth then we remain unchanged but if we use it instantly then we observe an instant change in our personality. And it's also true that money can never change your habits, even if it exposes you according to your bad habits. On the other hand if a person can manage its low income wisely then it's much better than having a lot of wealth without discipline. And it's an experimental proof that If, you have strong habits then you easily sustain your financial growth. So when you improve your mindset the automatic habits can follow it and over a period of time deciphline turn income into wealth.

Money is psychological; its multiplication comes from the intelligence in handling it. Poverty comes from a mindset: like, spending more than you earn, buying things you'll never use, the need to show others that you're doing well, traveling, going to a trendy club, or dining at a luxurious restaurant, not for personal pleasure, but to show off and gain approval from others.

Financial discipline is the key, regardless if you are earning more or not.  The problem with people they don't just focus on gaining financial discipline, but they give more emphasis on earning a lot. Though its normal because survival is getting expensive, but earning more does not make you financially discipline.

You become more disciplined trying to fit your low income, while you turn to spending unwise when you have a lot.

This hits hard and it’s facts. A lot of people don’t want to admit it, but earning more just amplifies who you already are financially. If someone is careless with a small income, a bigger income just gives them bigger mistakes.

Lifestyle inflation is the real enemy. Raises come in, discipline goes out the window. Instead of assets, people collect liabilities and call it “success.” That’s why budgeting, self-control, and mindset matter more than the size of the paycheck.

Money is a tool, not a cure. Fix the habits first, or no amount of income will ever be enough.
Where there is huge amount of income, lifestyle elevates as well. So expect that it will be more of spending, rather than saving up and accumulate wealth in the future.

I think this has already becomes a norm, and I must say this kind of mindset will never save us when future financial crisis occurs. Financial discipline is a must, if you can't perform it, earning more does not give you long term advantages but everything will only be useful for short term.

Quick wealth does not guarantee you'll stay financially independent forever. Only true financial discipline. It's what our society is lacking these days. And nobody seems to care, as long as their short-term needs are satisfied. This is nothing more than instant gratification.

To be able to always beat inflation and avoid bankruptcy, one must save and invest his capital wisely. A small percentage of the world's population is able to do this. It's this reason why so many people are poor, while the rich keep getting richer. Should we blame the system itself or individuals themselves by not being financially disciplined? I have seen people with an average day job turn wealthy in the long run as they've devised a sound financial strategy. Ultimately, the future is in your hands. What you do with your money is entirely up to you. Follow the advice, and you will reach very far.

Well I don't know how you will see it but Even as financial decipline is needed to increase wealth instead of more money,  but we still need more money some times to do better. Just like a person who is doing a job of $500 and he is trying to make a living from that salary, and this salary wouldn't be enough to handle responsibility and house hold expenses, and it will look to others like the person in question is not managing money properly without knowing that such money is not enough for him. So in conclusion, in most cases we need more money to be able to handle or manage our business to grow as expected.

You are not far from the truth but the same can be said for people that has plenty of money to invest but will not take any step to invest their money and that is bad of them to sit in only earning. Such people don't know about financial mistakes until they have achieved a very long journey of life without having nothing. How many government workers today that has been with government for years receiving salary that will say they have done well with their ordinary salary except people that love to steal from the government.

There is this something that we need to accept as the new generation, the world no longer dwelve on pay check any longer no matter how big the check, you have to forfeit some part of the money into another investment that is low risk because you can be running from been a person that is not having an investment only to invest into a new thing and then lose everything. Some investment doesn't guarantee that you are going to make money off it.

More income can solve short term cash pressure, but it doesn’t build wealth by itself that only happens when spending is intentional and delayed gratification becomes normal. Until someone learns to say no to lifestyle upgrades, every raise will feel temporary discipline isn’t exciting, but it’s what keeps money around instead of watching it disappear.
If you have a higher income, this is actually very good for you. If you feel that there is no significant change in yourself, that is your mistake in managing your own finances. You have to introspect, throw away unnecessary lifestyles. In a situation like this, it should be an opportunity for them to build or start a business because in terms of capital, they already have it or are ready to build it. This depends on the person whether they have the intention or not. In building a business, there must be sacrifices to achieve what we want. Building a business or enterprise is much better than fulfilling your lifestyle.

I think everything will depend on income, if your income is small then there is nothing you can do except think about fulfilling all your needs, but if we already have a large income then there are many things we can do to further develop it and in my opinion, financial management also comes back to each of us, we will definitely be aware of this if we have many problems and in my opinion the first solution to the problem is to have a high income.

Once income is higher, options open up. You can save, invest, take risks, build assets, make mistakes and recover. That’s real. Higher income makes everything easier.

But here’s the catch income alone isn’t the full solution. Plenty of people earn a lot and still stay broke because they don’t manage it well. Financial management still matters, especially once your income grows. Otherwise your expenses just scale up with your salary and nothing really changes.
