One major problem in Nigeria is the 100% focus on crude oil,  as it is now, oil in Nigeria is really not effective because its not that reliable as a growth engine anymore, other sectors like agriculture needs attention effectively not just farming alone but exports whereabouts, storage and packaging too, in order to accomplish this sector their must be constant power supply and transport infrastructure.

A friend asked me " how an average Nigerian can do to survive and thrive despite the system "? Well, waiting for the Nigerian system to fix itself is not an initial choice, with the way things dey go now many of us know sey degree alone no dey enough to adapt inside this naija, skills now na dey really help us, whether na fashion skill o, trade skill o, digital skill and so on, these skills fit dey pay u locally or even in dollar which fit make you thrive even though the system no too dey good.

Nigerian government shifted all it's energy to mining crude oil and forget to diversify the economy that's why we are struggling as a country and people are suffering, if the government has pay more attention to agriculture the way they did when it comes to oil the economy would have been stable to house the average Nigerians that could barely feed due to hardship, there should be diversity in the economy, we should look at the agricultural sector, if this sector is being invested into, there would be employment opportunities and the level of hunger will reduce, other countries are striving because they don't depend on one source, they diversify into other sectors.

I will advise every young meaningful Nigerian to get a skill for himself in other to survive, if one has a good skill and become self employed the person won't be seeking for employment as he will be dependent on his business to survive.

Agricultural sector isn't booming because the government are only interested in Crude oil money and doesn't pay attention to money that are being stolen in the agricultural sector. What happen to $1.2 billion green imperative project in partnership with Brazil?. N1.09 trillion grants were disbursed to farmers by Central bank under late buhari administration to boost agriculture, was there any improvement after then in the agricultural sector?. The government has invested trillions of Naira in the agricultural and the money were lost due to high level of corrupt people in the sector who are embezzling the Money.

As a youth, you need more than a university degree to survive in Nigeria. We have thousand of people graduating from various universities across the country, how many have being employed?. Learning a skill is a plus because after you graduate, you have a hand work that would be putting on the table untill you secure a white collar job.

I don't see the total concentration on crude oil as the problem of Nigeria because the same crude oil is what some countries like kuwait, saudi Arabia, Iraq and so on depends on for there survival. The only challenge associate with Nigeria's backwardness is corruption in our leadership sector, our leaders are only interested in what they stand to get instead of what they will do to make our country be among the best in the world.

I agree that the concentration of crude oil alone in Nigeria shouldn’t be the sole problem of the economic backwardness but for a Nation that has a long list of natural resources ranging from coal, cocoa, limestone, gold and so on, you would expect us to utilize the most out of the resources we can find.

Even the so called oil-rich countries you mentioned are also diversifying into other sectors like tourism, hospitality, manufacturing, sports, entertainment and so on, but here we have decided to put all our eggs in one basket. We have the best brains, ideas and intellect yet we all focus on crude oil alone. I have been opportune to travel to some states where agricultural produce prospers, and I kid you not when I say privately owned farm lands without the government input do so much when it comes to harvest.

Now Imagine if the government decides to take it up as a major industry in Nigeria. That’s not all, we have the digital and technological space where the youths thrive among the biggest names around the world. Imagine if we take tourism seriously, sports and others. Just imagine what will become of this one-time great Nation again!

Of a truth this country Nigeria is blessed with many mineral resources and not only oil. All the state in the country have their own mineral resources and their source of income and if only our leaders can divert their attention into other natural resources and not focussing on oil alone, I believe we will do better. These oil is majorly found in the region of Niger Delta and in some part of north they have gold even in large quantity and so it is in every region of Nigeria.

Nigeria is good in agriculture and our soil is very fertile for cultivation. If only farmers will get support from the federal, state, and local government, they will be able to produce these food items in large quantity. There will be enough food for consumption and there will also be enough food for exportation. More also , the government in conjunction with our local farmers can esterblish food processing factories to enable preservation. when all these things are in place, Nigeria will not only have enough food, but this will serve as a source of revenue generation for the country and as well help in boosting the economy of the country Nigeria.

Focussing on only one source of income is not a good idea. If today, their is no longer oil in the country, won't Nigeria go on? The earlier we diversify our interest the better for us.
