What's with this weird meriting pattern?

You mean those receive merits? Or those record with the consistent sending/receiving of merits? Usually it happen when the sender directly visits the user's profile post history not the typical reading post from thread then giving merits. Most users do that like merit sources or those users who offer will give merits on merit giveaway threads.

Going by the numbers and the reoccuring names giving merits in such short intervalls,
my first thought was a bot farm. But that cannot be true.
many of the accounts are well known so they cannot be bots.

I just cannot find the connection? I thought maybe it was a merit source thing but I did not find any info.

I don’t see anything odd about the merit pattern? If you think any of the posts do not deserve merits, you can say so. Most of the posts that received merits were from his local board, and it’s not surprising judging from the activity on my local board. I’m not as active as these users there maybe that’s why I don’t get so many merits there. I can find any account that look suspicious there.

The only weird thing I see is Vispilio sending 20 merits to a post in the bounty thread. But I can rationalize that to a post review or he was helping the account reach its next rank. What attracted you to visit this account’s merit page if I may ask?

If you want to do something similar and people will think you're a bot, open "+merit" in new tabs for several different users' posts, then fill in the merit amount fields for all open tabs and then "send". I think you can give up to 50 different users in 1min., depending on your hand and device speed.

The merit looks weird but just like some reputable members that their merits look weird while some people post good but people are not sending the account merit.

Merit system is good but it is not perfect at all, some people will know themselves and send themselves merits. This can be common on local boards as they know themselves, even physically some of them know themselves.

So if favoritism should be included, it is not weird at all.

The limit is 50 merit sent to one user within an interval of 30 days. There is no other limits as I know.

DdmrDdmr, one of forum merit sources, uses his bot for meriting too. He was less actively in the forum including merit distributions.

If I'm not mistaken you mean the fact that different thread are merited by same user within minutes/seconds?

I have no idea what you talking about  .
That's on a lighter note, I think this pattern is quite common on local boards based on relationships
I have noticed it usually from users local boards and from merit sources.

It is limited to 1 per second, consistent with the forum's "1 request per second" rule, so you can merit up to 60 users in a minute with a script.

I assume this is the result of post-historical review or another version of reporting your posts to be merit-assisted. There was a time when The Pharmacist accepted a post history review request. There are still some threads where the forum members can submit their posts for review, and forum members send their merits to their posts. I am thinking this in a positive way, and this is what I can think of seeing such a merit pattern.

However, I am not denying the possibility that there might be something suspicious as well. I cannot accuse them of merit abuse as long as known names are involved.
