No. You don't have to be perfect you just have to contribute as positively as you can.

Loll technical issues with mycellium back then but I don't think I'll experience it as an unsolvable problem anymore.

Well, just like others are say, not that I'm about to repeat the same thing but the truth there is that you just need to make quality post, share good information and also help others but enlightening them on anything they don't understand, that way you will earn merits. As a matter of fact, if you really know about technical things, you can go to the technical board and post good quality posts there. Lastly, you just need to be real, post on topics you understand. Do r post for merited because I have come to realize that most post you do believing you will earn merits through them, sometimes end up receiving nothing, but those ones you really don't expect anything sometimes are the ones you get merited.

Not really, all they need to do is find someone who can bake them a pizza and there you have it your spree of merits from many forum members.

Ignore or don't focus too much on the merits section because this forum offers a lot more than just ranking up and be a part of paid sig, you will make it over time but until that focus on what you really want to know, which differs from one to another.

And a tip to get merits faster: Pick your niche, be it technical board or beginner queries or going to be a part of forum drama or anything.

Never I don't judge a user by it's rank nor their reputation. As a human kind anyone can make mistakes , and if you're newbie it doesn't means you have less knowledge from other higher rank member. So you will be judged by you quality of posts.

Use this forum only for joining shit posting bounty campaigns. Didn't even know how to post properly, broken bb codes and continues spamming post( didn't know I've to merge all the post at once if I wants to reply multiple user once)

Read more and more , I usually read a topic but don't reply. If I'm confident enough that I can contribute something to that topic only than I reply .

Since your questions are centered on merits, I'd answer in that line.
One mistake I made while coming up was feeling I was entitled to being merited when I gave "quality" content. The thing I didn't understand is that merits are given voluntarily and depending on the frame of mind of the giver. I felt "cheated" when most times I'd create meaningful content but instead of getting merited, someone else would. Just as the others have responded, it would help you if you don't focus more on how you get merited if not you'd easily get discouraged when it doesn't fall your way.

Just be your honest genuine self. If there's one thing this forum appreciates it is originality and the ability to always be open to learning because I tell you, learning never stops and don't think that a certain rank that you achieve would spare you from getting taught things. I think such a mentality would push your growth faster than trying to ass-lick your way up.

I believe what helped me the most was my desire to understand what bitcoin really is and how I could make the most of this new tech. Outside the forum, I went for bitcoin seminars and conferences just trying to gather more information and insert myself among like minds. As a newbie no one expects you to be perfect or correct about everything you could receive merits for just being genuine and putting effort into your post.

Forum members generally values posts that are adding value to the forum discussions and helpful to the community.

Not really. I see many new accounts rank up fast nowadays with little posts outside their local boards, wall observer thread and forum contests. In this day of AI generated spam, organic posts are very much appreciated.

I’d stay clear off forum drama. Some things are deeper than they seem. Like it or not, people take sides and when you go against their “friends”, they often have a vandetta against you even if they know you’re not wrong.

Keep contributing positively to the forum. Grow a thick skin because you will need it.

I agree that paying less attention to merits and focus to constructive posts are what makes this forum a good learning space. For me, I would also consider same type of post as you and also posts about schemes that scammers use as it will help us know what to avoid. Just like the post I just joined in discussion with which is address poisoning. I am also curious why OP asked this question when OP already have merits even less merits needed to reach the merit required to ranked up to sr. member. My guess why OP said it's very important is because op only need 16 more merits to rank up to sr. member.

Contrary to what you both think, OP’s question is not a foolish one. From OP’s merit page, I see most of the merits he’s got are from posts in his local board. I think he wants to know how he can replicate the same quality in the general boards.
