I think Sui itself was created to compete with Solana. Because I see Sui itself as a layer 1 whose performance is actually starting to surpass Solana, especially in terms of fees. Sui seems to be improving on Solana's limitations and striving to perfect them so that these limitations no longer exist on their network, or at least are slightly improved.

However, even though Sui looks better at the moment, the community's trust still lies with Solana. The reason is quite clear: Solana has been tested with network congestion, and even then, they are still doing well. The only drawback of Solana is that their network has experienced downtime.

So, my conclusion is that in the future, I believe Sui has the potential to surpass Solana in terms of gaming and NFTs, but Solana will be difficult to surpass in the DeFi sector. This is because Solana itself has a more mature DEX and lending platform.

Besides Sui, Aptos is also often mentioned as a competitor. However, Aptos is not better than Sui. Nevertheless, Aptos is beginning to show advantages in the adoption of native stablecoins on their network.

This reminds me of the past when people were talking about the BNB vs ETH competition. Many claimed that BNB would eventually surpass ETH because of its lower fees. In reality, ETH is still the more popular one to this day.

The same thing could happen with SUI and Solana. Even though some people have strong confidence in SUI’s future, I personally believe Solana will remain above SUI. The gap between their ecosystems is quite significant, and many investors trust Solana more for the long term.

Since the Cetus DEX hack and the sharp drop in SUI, it has made part of the community somewhat doubtful about security issues. For that reason, I prefer Solana as a long-term option.

It could happen, depending on the team. If many investors come in and buy SUI, the price and trading value will increase. The coin's market cap will increase. If investors are interested in buying more SUI, SUI will quickly compete with Solana. However, it's still a long way off from Solana. Perhaps time and the team will determine whether SUI can compete with Solana.

Sui is the tech stack that was created by the devs who did Facebook's crypto attempt, before the US government didn't like the idea of a whole new currency based on baskets of assets other than the USD.  Meta abandoned their blockchain attempt and the devs took their skills and built SUI. It's a powerful blockchain, amazingly fast. Once many SDKs start working with SUI to make developer lives easier,  I expect a lot of development to move to it.

To be realistic I can't really compare SUI to SOL reason being that SOL has already gain the community interest and trust, and even though SUI seems to be a bit rising and gaining interest across more than SOL still most people especially person like me wouldn't settle for that over SOL, Rather I can only hold some percentage of it against the future than entirely leaving it.
But however, most project has already launched their platform on Sol especially when it comes of NTF, even though it is no longer on the trends now, but most projects are being deployed on sol network.

SUI is already a competitor for Solana, but it has not yet being close to the Solana due to the lack of demand. The tech is just meh, but getting hyped by VCs to flip the money.

As for my future forecast for SUI, the blockchain is pretty good, fast, and cheap enough. However, it's lacking of adoption. The total TVL in SUI is farrrr less compared to the Solana. There are not many organic traders in there too. Many of projects on its ecosystem are also hyped based.

Even some sui dapps already sunsetting due to the lacking of operational cost due to the lack of demand in SUI ecosystem. I also much concerned with its inflationary token mechanism. So i don't thin SUI can meet your high expectation or even being close to the SOL.

From what I can tell, SUI is not quite ready to be a strong competitor to Solana. SUI's track record is still quite new and the ecosystem is still small. If compared to Solana then to date and for the next few cycles Solana will still be ahead of SUI in all growth.

Well, to be honest, Solana has always had many competitors, and that’s just how it is for every cryptocurrency in this industry. Now, regarding Sui I can't deny that if both of them were to rally at the same time, I'd honestly prefer to invest in Sui.

Straight up, it's because there’s a higher chance of making a huge profit compared to Solana.

Well, that's how it will be. But Solana actually gets more demand because the meme coins that appeared and the hype on their network have continued to this day. Without the meme token hype on the Solana network, I'm actually skeptical that Solana would get more attention. But everyone is already so comfortable on the Solana network that it will be very difficult for other Layer 1 competitors with concepts similar to Solana to beat Solana in the competition.

However, competing with Solana does not mean beating Solana in terms of market cap or ranking. It's just that new networks like Sui have improved on some of Solana's shortcomings. However, Sui hasn't been strong enough in gaining community attention due to its past airdrop and testnet distributions, which disappointed the crypto community. I remember SUI even dropped sharply at one point. But in the end, Sui found its place in the community's heart, especially in the crypto gaming community.

You can compare Finality, Parallel TX, gaming focus, and NFT infrastructure between Solana and SUI, and you will see which one is truly superior. However, Solana remains more dominant in gaining community trust and hype within the crypto community.

This debate has been settled a long time ago. Solana and SUI ate in entirely different league and should not be compared. Solana has a more matured ecosystem than SUI and sui needs at least 2-3 more years to even come to a point we can even consider it to be a mature ecosystem and given how fast new chains died or existing one meet their end of life, we can't say for sure if SUI will still hold it's own in the next 2-3 years but solana will.

Compared to Solana which already has that strong presence in the crypto ecosystem, SUI is still very new to the system but it clearly has very good technology outline that will drive it, the aim attached to it is to solve scalability and also speed issues so i think it can grow in the space has time goes on but Solana already has that standing of a very large community acceptance and also so many projects built on it, so it can't be easy to compete with, but in as much as SUI stays on the right track and build very feasible use cases or utilities and keep attracting developers to build good and lasting project on the technology, then with time it can stand side by side with Solana as possible rivals.. But as for now Solana is way ahead.

Hardly. Sui isn't as frequently used as solana. Like it or not despite the rugs, solana is the most active blockchain for memes and that alone generate massive revenue and add demand to the market.
Real competitor to solana is ethereum. There's nothing else that come close. Ethereum and solana is an example of a blockchain that actually getting used by their users, not just fake metrics.
