No matter the kind of wallet we use, we really need to develop the habit of cross-checking the wallet address. Even if we use a hardware wallet for investing in Bitcoin, it doesn't mean one has nothing to do with a custodial wallet, which will be needed for trading.
If that consciousness is not there to check the wallet address, it is possible to copy an incorrect address, and you may end up sending your coins to a scammer.
That is what everyone needs to do, to make it a habit that we're cross checking addresses before proceeding to a transaction.
Can't imagine with that dust amount that's been used for the address poisoning has caused so much and probably that person is in distress now.
The reason why we often fall for scammers is that we don't give our attention and consciousness to ensure that things are being done in the right way.
And by simply spending a couple of minutes doing due diligence and cross checking could have saved them.
