You could justify this by saying that he made this mistake because he is just a boy of 23 years old, no older person will make such mistakes, but trust me, mistakes knows no age, there are mistakes for every ages, no matter how smart you are at stealing you will make mistake one day and get caught. Crime gets you there very quickly and it will pull the plug on you very fast when the time is right.
Crime doesn't pay.
I have previously seen this same post on the other forum, I want to believe you are also the one who posted it there.. Anyways, crime is crime, and karma doesn't exists for jokes, many people may not believe in karma but that does not mean it doesn't exist and works.. The universe will always have a way of leading those who are into crime into making mistake that will lead them to being caught or getting caught. A popular scammer from my country who was arrested in 2020 is still in prison till date, he was so smart but his own mistake was ordering a 2021 model of Rolls-Royce in 2020 from Dubia, that triggered the authorities to start investigating what he does for a living, and this was how it was discovered that he was into fraud and he was arrested. Those who choose crime do enjoy life but only for a while.

Scammers do illegal things because they want to have luxurious and lucrative lives while they are lazy and don't want to work hard for money. After their scam attempts succeeded, they can not live a humble life as it is not their purpose. By using scammed money for buying luxurious assets, they made a lot of noise and became targets of people around them for physical attacks or governments with investigations and arrests. It's popular ending of scammers and it's like life karma.

Well in my humble opinion I will say that this 23years old boy being caught was as a result of his attitude and age, I am not that saying that adult are not being caught after stealing, but the rate at which underaged or teenagers are caught is high, simply because they are not smart, they too quick to spend money that is bigger than their age and will be noticed quickly than an adult. That is the aspect or my point of view. Crime doesn't pay.
Well in as much as crime is concerned in most cases it pays but certainly the person in question must pay someday with his blood. Because if you say it doesn't pay how do they scam people successfully without being caught? Sometimes they may even scam people and get away with it for long term before being caught while some are not even caught. The truth is that crime is not an option to gamble with, Because if it favour who you know, it may not be favourable to you if you chose to give it a trial.

You know one thing I hate about scammers, they are not contented, they want to continue stealing until they are caught and I wonder why they all exhibit such character. Most time, they must have scammed a huge amount just like this small boy of 23 year, at his age $16 million is a huge amount to begin with but he was not satisfied and so he keeps pushing for more victims. This is just the same character that every scammer from all around the world exhibit. They don't stop, they keep scamming until they are either caught or maybe nemesis caught up with them.

First degree grand larceny, first degree money , and participating in scheme to defraud. on Cases like this where the criminals are caught Are the victims reimbursed? Or it turns into the government funds. We've seen many times that such assets seized are retained by the government and not returned to the victims, a very recent example being the 204+ bitcoin seized by Taiwan in illegal transaction announced by their department of defense that the nation is holding it. I believe the last victims that were reimbursed is MtGox clients, although I stand to be corrected. Others are considered government properties upon seizure. It's maddening how victims often get left out and get nothing while governments sit on the seized crypto. One would think the whole point of confiscation would be to make victims whole but it instead just end up as the government's prize. Makes you realize how messy crypto crime recovery still is... hopefully there is a change in that aspect

The arm of justice reaches very far. As far as it needs to. It gets slippery the further down the hallway you get. Typically, the law doesn't come right away. They like us fat and juicy. This reminds of a story my uncle shared with me about my dad. Someone asked him for money. Always willing to help he reached for his wallet the borrower said man I wish I could have it like you. Array of vehicles, properties, farms respect in the community. My dad says. You can. Just start off with two little pigs. They'll easily reproduce for you. That lets you get a couple goats. Then you get yourself a little property opportunity will come. Takes grit but get yourself at least there I'll find some cows and I'm sure there's a tractor and truck around somewhere we don't need. As he handed him the money the guy starts laughing and says by the time those pigs grow up. He made it too. As high as most can. As it's been mentioned here the "end" comes fast and hard. For him 30 years in the gladiator tanks. "Juice for Milk" I for one hate to see anyone get into trouble but having someone watch their piggies grow up and then someone comes to scope them up isn't sustainable.

True their greed makes them stupid, living quiet is impossible for them, they have to flaunt it, which makes them a target for both rivals and the law the ironic part is if they just laid low, they might actually get away with it for longer.

One would think the whole point of confiscation would be to make victims whole but it instead just end up as the government's prize. Makes you realize how messy crypto crime recovery still is... hopefully there is a change in that aspect In most jurisdictions the outcome depends less on the type of crime and more on how the case is structured legally. In theory asset seizure is meant to support restitution but in practice reimbursement is neither automatic nor guaranteed. Courts usually distinguish between forfeiture and restitution, and that distinction is where victims often lose out. If prosecutors pursue criminal forfeiture, seized assets become part of the state’s property once a conviction is entered. Governments justify this by arguing the assets are proceeds of crime and therefore belong to no private party. In those cases victims must file separate civil claims or be included in a restitution order to recover anything. Without that extra legal step the funds remain with the state and may later be auctioned or held as reserves, which is what you often see with seized Bitcoin.

People who made mistakes will get caught and if they didn't then they will likely to ejoy their remaining life with that one heist. Age doesn't matter, it is all about how good they are prepared and thought about every possibilities and there is an escape plan if something goes wrong.
Crime pays better money but would you be will to chose that? The money that comes after devastating the life savings of many. Some people will...

"Lolimfeelingevil" aka Ronald Spektor is not like your average online scammer. This 23 years old boy successfully stolen $16 million from 100 coinbase users by using phishing and social engineering scheme, he will pretend to be a Coinbase representative and start convincing people to send cryptocurrency to accounts that he controls. His main trick is to tell victims that their coins are at a greater risk of being stolen by a hacker to make them feel imbalance and scared, he will then launder the assets using Mixers, Swapping services, and Crypto gambling websites. ZachXBT have been on this case for a year now, as a professional as he is it becomes extremely hard to tail this boy. Luckily this boy made a mistake by himself, he publicly bragged about his schemes within a channel on telegram called "Blockchain Enemies", he even said that he lost $6 million to gambling. It was one of his victims that contacted ZachXBT and since then the hunt was on, now he is apprehended and facing 31 charges including First degree grand larceny, first degree money laundering, and participating in scheme to defraud. Source: https://decrypt.co/353190/brooklyn-man-charged-phishing-scheme-swiped-16-million-coinbase-usersYou could justify this by saying that he made this mistake because he is just a boy of 23 years old, no older person will make such mistakes, but trust me, mistakes knows no age, there are mistakes for every ages, no matter how smart you are at stealing you will make mistake one day and get caught.
