I have not read a book relating to gambling before, I never felt the need and even if I want to start reading books relating to gambling now, I do not know what information I will be looking for and what aspect of my gambling I hope to improve with those knowledge. Maybe it could be because I see gambling as something for passive income and not as an occupation.

Your first lines is the very hard truth to be put in considerations about this reading for self improvement in gambling.
Once again, what aspect do you want to improve? Is it about playing responsibly? If yes, that is cool to go but is it even commendable to begin gambling without being put those basics into practice? I guess not.

Reading books does not also teach responsible gambling personality better than the experience you may have gone through because as a person, you should know by yourself what is good and bad for you when it comes to risks without being told except you have fallen addicted. Even if addicted, reading books can not make you a change person except you have to be self determined though, good psychological may be of help to an extend.

Is it also about improving on how to win, that too is a null because there is no realistic form of informations that can give you such a guarantee to be successful in gambling.
But if I must read this book, it should be assumed as a mere terms of communication just like we have here and will find it just fun all through.

Books that cover gambling must be quite extensive, whereas gamblers prefer to search for information on an as-needed basis, so I often use chatGPT help to simply find out the betting mechanics that I want and really need to know at that time.

Our first thought when we hear the word gambling is easy money but it does not mean that all people who are involved with it are lazy not to read a book. Yes, books are extensive but isn't that a good thing? As that can mean that we can learn more from it and help us to become a better gambler.

But if it is only about betting and gambling related mechanics, then I think we can see this already on the game's manual. So there is no need to look for other areas about it. I never prefer gaining knowledge for gambling from books because I have enough experience to handle and/or quit gambling in a right way.

I'm of the opinion that reading books is a thing of the past, as there are coaches in gambling, like poker, who can tell you much more in less time than we can understand from multi-page books, where about 20% of the information is useful. In general, today I would definitely prefer to work with a coach, even if they're expensive, although I understand that in other gambling games, they might not explain the intricacies of winning the game, lest they themselves go hungry.

I am used to seeing that in this section we talk about sources of information such as news in the media or youtubers, but little is said about the books worth reading on probability that could help us better understand the mechanics of gambling and betting.

I don't know if this thread will have a long run, but at least I would like to give it a try. So, what popular books, essays, etc. have you read that you think are worthwhile in order to improve our knowledge on the subject?

My picks would be Kahneman's Thinking, Fast and Slow, Taleb's The Black Swan, and I've started now reading Fooled by Randomness, by Taleb too.

Although these are essays, I think they are quite easy to read.

Reading can be time consuming but it's never a waste of time to acquire new knowledge and that's what reading is about by t this is about reading in general, reading a material related to gambling though might be a different case all together because I'm not entirely sure on what the book will tell me, maybe it will advise on controlling how much I gamble, probably talk on having a budget on how much of your income goes into gambling, the books might be worth a read but I don't think I will be reading it though.

Hi !  You’ve got good taste. I also enjoyed reading Taleb’s books and just watching his interviews on TV. I’d recommend that you read “The Art of Strategy: A Game Theorist’s Guide to Success in Business and Life” by Barry J. Nalebuff. I think you’ll like it — it’s definitely worth your time.

These books are interesting to read because they share real-life experiences with others, like "Reminiscences of a Stock Operator," where he repeatedly built up his capital through trading but ultimately lost it all. You can draw some conclusions from that book, but it won't teach you how to trade. These books also don't offer practical guidance, but if they help you understand some of the basics of financial management, it's a good start. After all, in gambling you also need to know how to manage your bankroll, without it losing is even more likely.

Reading books is a good cause because it always has some impact, and become the habit that readers will portray. However, it is not every book that is worth reading, and if the book contains content that will help gamblers understand the concept of gambling with bankroll management, it is worth reading for gamblers who still have issues in such areas.
I personally don't see any reason in reading books about gambling unless i want to have more in-depth knowledge about card games, which i am not good at.

I'm not sure if I've been seeing more books related to gambling lately, but coming across this thread reminds me of how we can read about many other things that we do. In contrast, this makes it an interesting decision that when we gamble and have the opportunity of coming across books in relation to gambling, some will learn something from such if they can take their time to read.

But how interested are gamblers really in reading any books about gambling? I think not many gamblers would be interested in something like that, except for those who are obsessed with gambling or those who actually enjoy reading books on certain topics. 
I have never read gambling-related books; most of the knowledge comes from the stories of those who have actually experienced gambling. They are the friends from my hangout group.

If not about hearing other past experience stories, what else could it be about? I either doubt if there's one that details education of how to gamble. Maybe could only have a learning content that fosters on responsible and irresponsible gambling which we're all already familiar with.
So after having time to spend on gambling that's not Worth it I'd still make out time reading about same gambling? I think "The Gambler" by Dostoyevsky is the only "gambling book" I have read... maybe 20 years ago, more or less. I remember some parts. It's a nice book, and I will probably read it again... this thread reminded me about it.

I think the time spent on reading is not wasted time. People have different tastes, and it's good to read generally. I like to read, but I am not so much into gambling books... movies about gambling are more interesting.

I haven't seen any book of gambling online or at the bookshop, either have I heard anyone talking about a gambling book. Then again, I don't think anyone would need that kind of gambling book, because gambling does not have a particular method for winning. No script written to get one a straight win. The manipulative use of time to create harmonious relationships at home is an expression of mature thinking in the process of selective entry of information. I do agree with you on the decision to maintain the comfortability of the family since that warmth is the most physical treasure we have in common. The stimulation of the creative faculty better comes with viewing movie masterpieces or reading fiction. The reinforcement of the relationships of love with our children would allow us to understand that these moments are the greatest accomplishments in life.
