No matter what we say here, they're people out there that has already spent their December salary and are already taken loan because of Christmas. The pressure to meet up your peers standard is the root cause of people over spending in period like this.

Na good advice you carry come my brother, this Xmas na one kind months wey dey carry expenses and if person no take time him go enter wetting Yoruba people dey call gbeseh (debt) and when this gbeseh don dey your head like this, e go affect your plan for January. Sometimes you go use one whole month dey settle Dept na maybe after 2 months you go come start to dey save money. They barely even have time for themselves nor their families. Normally Christmas periods in Nigeria usually comes with its own pressure, you see lots of people and families traveling home, it’s almost like a norm now that people usually fix their marriage ceremonies on Christmas holidays, all of this can amount to pressures many youth are facing in Nigeria and they tend to go extravagantly just to make sure they get married on Christmas holidays.
