When gambling becomes an addiction, there's almost no joy in it. I can honestly say this because I was previously addicted for several months, and for most of that time, I felt mental and psychological stress, constantly thinking about how I could recover all the money I'd lost.

But I eventually managed to emerge from that terrifying zone by working hard to restrain myself and isolating myself from anything that connected me to gambling. The true joy of gambling can only be felt if you gamble moderately, meaning you don't become addicted and only use gambling as an activity to fill boring free time.

If I am earning $250 weekly and I use $10 to gamble which is $40 every month, it is not bad at all. I like the feeling when I use such small amount of money to gamble and bet. i think what people call enjoyment in gambling is not real happiness. it is mainly temporary excitement and artificial thrill. the possibility of winning makes people feel excited for a short time but that feeling does not last long. when people win they want to take more risks and when they lose they become desperate to recover their losses. this cycle slowly creates addiction. real happiness usually brings mental peace stability and satisfaction. but gambling creates restlessness fear and guilt inside a person. many people later realize that along with money they have also lost time relationships and self respect. those who have come out of this addiction say that gambling never gave them true happiness. it only brought long term damage behind short lived excitement. so in my opinion there is no real happiness in gambling. there is only an illusion.

I really don't understand why people constantly talk about gambling addiction. It seems like everyone who gambles will become addicted to gambling, or that it's very easy to become addicted to gambling, when that's far from the truth. Look at the global number of people addicted to alcohol.

It's an extremely high number, but to this day I haven't seen any government ban alcohol in their country. To this day, I don't see them doing much campaigning about stopping alcohol consumption; on the contrary, at parties, beer, wine, and other alcoholic beverages are a must. But when you look at these frightening numbers, you clearly see what should be done and what governments have never had the courage to do. Now look at gambling:
