Well for me I have heard many stories on how gambling changed someone life from nothing to something, but hadn't seen anyone who became rich through gambling, So I don't know how true is this. And the reason why you don't see people or hear people saying about the good things gambling has done for them, is because gambling has done them more harm than good, so for that they see no reason to be hyping something that has done more harm to them than good. And there are also gamblers who became rich through gambling and still later became poor within an twinkle of an eye, just because they were too greedy. After winning huge amount of money instead of them to walk away they continue gambling till they lost everything and back to square one.

There are people who are really making reasonable amount of money from gambling but they are just few people compared to the majority that experience losses so that is just the fact. However, huge winnings do not happen all the time but heavy losses happens all the time. Gambling itself has to do more with losses than winnings, that's just the nature. I have seen someone who won a huge amount of money but instead of establishing something meaningful with the money he was just buying home appliances and sound system then used the remaining money to gamble again but was unlucky that it got to an extent that he started selling them again to raise money.

Top list of life changing gambling winnings are mostly traced down to have been recorded majorly in the American lottery,  although we may have some other life changing winnings that may be kept off online or not popularly mentioned but their are there since most are just gambling for fun, keeping those records may not be all that welcoming but necessary in few cases.

I hard of a musician that won today close to $90,000,000 with a bet staked at 25,000 that is a huge amount in winnings that can change someone life too.

We may not noticed those small amount that gamblers win, what make news are the big winnings which mostly come through lottery jackpot.

I believe some of us here have a relative, friend or someone we know or see that has won huge amount of money that has changed their life also.

I know a few people, not from my family or relatives, who won the lottery and completely changed their lives. But with the games we play in online casinos, we’re basically gambling everything, and it’s hard to expect that it will really change our lives. Some people are hypocrites, they will talk against gambling in the presence of someone and talk good about it to someone else and they can also hide to secretly gamble, all these act are probably because of some personal beliefs and act of pretending to be what they are not. In contest of whether it should be criticized or not depends on how some people have decided to gamble for profit, some have depended on it as a main source of income and it ends up destroying their life and because of that, people are now picturing it as a bad thing despite the life of most gamblers that it has changed for good.

Once I had a friend who won 20k gambling with a starting amount of maybe 600 EUR but it still seemed interesting how little that changed his life. He paid off debt to his car and was left with 6k. 2k went to a big vacation. Then with the remaining 4k he survived for a few months in unemployment without rushing to get a job he didn't like.

Then after the money was over he had tkbhave two jobs again... Life is hard and it you don't save up for later then you'll be on the same grind. Most people never win enough to change their life.

That is greediness. People who are dissatisfied even after winning a large amount believe they can double it.
This is fairly common, and it has happened to me on occasion. Even if it is a big win, I always believe I can double my large wins.
That is why I have always said that greed is destructive; we should be content if we win a huge amount; if you continue to play, expect to lose everything.

There are news articles on the internet that support @OP's title, but I think they are just a handful of people.  These people who hit the jackpot and won the lottery are the one who surely has changed life for good through gambling.

I can't argue with that, but let's admit it, there are more people who have bad endings with gambling compared to those who have made it and gain success. This is to show that a lot of people are here to gamble with uncontrollable greed that led them to ruin their finances, ruin their marriages and families built. However, I have to agree that gambling for some few people also leave a huge impact on their lives positively by transforming their lives from scratch until they find theirselves having their own house and businesses that will be a very big help to sustain their lives.

This is because many people lack discipline and self-control.  If more people gamble responsibly, then the statement of the one quoted would be reversed.  There would be no problem gambling issues, and suicide news because of gambling

Indeed gambling has changed life, but at what cost? See, as long as it’s something that doesn’t have a pattern or that just relies entirely on luck then I think we should keep spreading awareness about it, let people know that there’s a huge danger when it comes to gambling, when it’s not properly handled. So aside the fact that it has the potential to make you a millionaire in a few minutes time, people should be aware that it’s also possible to ruin your life if you’re not careful with it.

Look at those people who won millions from gambling, check if they were able to hit another one again? So if it’s established that gambling is luck based then why do we need to still preach it to people as if it’s something that they can simply just log into and recreate? I’m not a fan of preaching the profit aspect of gambling without letting people know that there’s as a huge risk involved when there’s no proper control.

I don't think it's true that people do not talk about the good part of gambling; in fact, it's one of the most personal stories to tell. People talk more about success stories to avoid being judged. And most success stories are the reason some people also gamble. Some gamblers have won huge money in gambling and still gamble without being addicted to it. I know someone who is in school, all he does to keep going is gamble, and I haven't heard much negative feedback from his people.

There are good sides for sure, but the bad seem to be more because we have a lot of irresponsible gamblers. Besides, most people do not really appreciate wins that much.. It only hits hard when you lose some money .

Statistics show that big money won through gambling usually doesn't change people's lives for the better. Poor people who win large amounts of money eventually either gamble it away or lose it through various bad investment choices, lending to friends and family and thinking they can quit their jobs and do nothing for the rest of their lives.

The thing is, when you don't have money you overestimate its value. You think that since you've never had $100k, you could live for many years with that money, but having money increases your expectations and standards and that usually drains your money much faster than it would had you earned it over time.

Big wins don't change much in people's lives. They only get to taste the life of the rich for a while and then it all goes away and leaves them in worse condition than prior to the win.

There's nothing to worry about people that gambling has changed there life. Honestly, there are things we don't need bother ourselves because it has said several times here that gambling is not a get rich quick scheme so believing on such thing might likely result to more losses at last because there are gamblers who is ready to go extra mile just because of someone's winning that they don't know how come about.

For a gambler to win big would come from them exploring other gambling options than just sports betting, because I believe parlays would offer a better chance at winning a jackpot than sportsbetting would do. There are always two side to everything we do in life and as such what works for A can't work for B, gambling can make or marr someone in an twinkle of an eye that's why you can say it has made people rich and made others useless but it all depends on the individual that is gambling, before gambling you have to put away emotions and discipline yourself and if you don't discipline yourself and have a budget then you have planed to be useless or frustrated from gambling.

I know of a young man that don't gamble but the situation he found himself made him to do so and after he won a huge amount from gambling he stopped and never returned to it, this are the kind of discipline one has to take in other not to allow gambling destroy you, you just have to be cautious of your decisions that doesn't mean you won't gamble but you gamble with wisdom and not get carried away, gambling has made many people become rich and at the same time made many poor so we just have to be disciplined.
