A lot of things I see or hear people say is how gambling has destroyed their life and how gambling has made the life of some people useless and how gambling has separated families.  No one say the good part of gambling we all know that some set of people have won huge amount of money that change the life for good through gambling and this is the major reason why some set of people get into gambling because they see others that has won huge amount of money.
I know someone that has won huge amount of money and use the money to build a very beautiful house for himself and use some part of it to start up a business that his doing till date, what I'm saying is that gambling has changed the life of some people for good.
I believe some of us here have a relative, friend or someone we know or see that has won huge amount of money that has changed their life also.

From what i have seen among the people around me, both friends and family, they certainly did not experience continuous losses, they also experienced moments of great victory. However, greed destroyed everything once again. After winning big, they chose to increase their bets to larger amounts than before, hoping that when that moment came again, the profits would be even greater. However, in reality, that moment never came, and eventually all the previous profits along with the initial capital and all savings, were lost. This is a real life example of those who cannot control themselves.

Personally, i do not know how the person you mentioned managed to keep their winnings. Did they immediately convert the winnings into cash and buy a house, fearing the money would be lost again in gambling, or did they decide to stop after the big win? Because greed is a natural human trait that is difficult to resist, especially when someone feels that luck is on their side.

I don’t have any examples in my environment who won such a huge jackpot, that it completely changed their lives. But I do know several stories where people lost even their real estate, although if you sum it up, such cases are very rare. So big wins, just like big losses, are an exception. Most of the time everything happens around average values, and the main turnover in casinos comes from players who just come to play a little. gambling really has two sides we always hear the bad stories because those cases are more common & more painful especially when families are affected but it’s also true that gambling has helped some people change their life for good there are people who won big, used the money wisely, built a house or started a business those stories exist even if they are not many. Someone can work same as other but they will have different results for his life. we can see them from our life and our neighbor. People who can improve their lives through any means, including gambling, are those with a positive mindset.
So, there are actually businesspeople who go bankrupt despite having substantial assets because they didn't know how to manage their finances when they were successful.
Similarly, people who win from gambling lose their winnings, but others manage to turn things around for the better.
So, it's not where the money comes from, but the person's mindset.
However, I don't know anyone close to me who has successfully changed their life for the better through gambling, perhaps because they don't speak up because gambling is always considered bad in my society.

We know that some people can win huge amount of money from gambling and become successful also but we only use the downsides of gambling to let people know that gambling should only be for fun with very small amount of money and not for making money.

Sure. And even if we want to praise gambling for setting up some people and making them great, we should remember that it may just be 2% out of the 100% of gamblers. I may be wrong in my ratio or rating, but I believe that the number of people that has lost fortunes are much more than those who made it big with gambling.

It seems like no one in my circle is getting rich from gambling or even improving their lives. Most of them lose a lot of money, even their possessions. And, even more painfully, some even get divorced because of their gambling, which is actually their own fault. Lol. I know a person that married and started a business with gambling money and this is not even a hear and say thing, it's directly from where I work. This guy has been struggling financially, there was no money to finance his business idea. Out of struggle, he did all he could to arrange multiple bets in one parlay and this guy bang the money as if it was nothing, he cashout the money and started a business and got married to start a beautiful family.

There is a punter in Nigeria that many people call Mayor of Ekiti, recently he has stopped gambling for the public, maybe due to his own reasons but this guy was the first successful gambler I have won money with, no shade no hype. He made money while serving the country and everyone respected him because he has helped alot of people financially. There are many of them but you see this guy in particular, he is the only person I can vouch for that made it through gambling.

I don't focus on those lucky enough to win large sums of money; I'm more interested in how exactly they did it, how they achieved such a level of skill, and so on. I just want to understand a few things for myself so I can grow as a player and increase my EV. I completely agree with what you said. Gambling does have many interesting stories and tales. Many people are tempted by the desire to get rich quickly. But this is what destroys them, because there are no shortcuts to riches. If you want to be rich, you have to work hard. Gambling offers a different thrill; it's a game of skill and luck. They know when to start and stop playing, and don't let emotions get the better of you. If you can control yourself, I don't think it's a problem. The most important thing is not to overdo it, because overdoing it can be detrimental.

For me, gambling is a form of entertainment, and in general we already pay for entertainment anyway, but here there is also a chance to earn something. What I can note as a positive change since I started playing is that I always have something to do for fun now. I don’t have to think about how to spend my free time, which actually saves time.
