You are saying you lost some amount of money but the amount you could afford to loss got out of your pocket, from your various replies, you always said, a gambler cannot beat the house, and the house always win no matter what.

The only mistake a gambler could do is taking loan to gamble while remaining in debt, thats the worst mistake ever, i dont see the fact of using ones money to gamble and loss as a mistake.

I think my biggest gambling mistake in 2025 was betting on multi-leg parlays that were very unlikely to happen. When I look back at all my parlay bets, I believe that if I had placed them as single bets instead, my entire 2025 gambling activity would have been profitable. The parlays are what really caused my losses.
There were also times when I shouldn’t have hedged my bets, because they ended up winning anyway. The money I used for hedging was just wasted.

So I guess this coming 2026 I will minimize my parlay bets and no more hedging my bets.

Even not in debt, a gambler shouldn't take loan just to gamble. It only shows how irresponsible they are if they keep on doing that. We've seen gamblers took loan and have defaulted from it, that's why even those who don't have any other loans, they need to avoid this mistake. I have never done this mistake because I know how it will impact me as a person and trust from the people that I might ask money just to fulfill my gambling needs. And that's why fortunately, I'm still in the right path and never have done this and won't be doing it in the future.

In 2025 I never really made a mistake in gambling but one of the mistakes I will try my best never to make is to gamble with the amount thst I cant afford because their is no guarantee of me winning even if I gamble with an amount that i cant afford.

When you make attempt of gambling with more money just because you want to make money by all means it is always difficult to gamble with the amount you can afford.  Once you start gambling with amount that you cant afford to lose , the outcome of this is beginning to chase your loses in gambling.

I know that we should gamble only what we are comfortable of losing but I never expected that my whole amount of incentives for the whole year will only be wasted through gambling. Maybe I was totally engrossed with my game that time that I forgot to control my pocket and my emotions, and until now I can't still recover thinking how irresponsible gambling ruined all my plans for my whole incentives. I think quite a lot of people make mistakes every year, including this year. I myself made a mistake that nearly cost me everything I had, but fortunately, I realized it and stopped betting. I've certainly learned a lesson from that, and I'll remember it if I gamble more than twice as much, so I can be mindful of the concept of gambling by chasing wins, as that can lead to significant losses.

Throughout this year, I’ve continued to struggle with controlling the amount of money I spend on gambling. I recognize that this is largely my own responsibility, as my self-discipline has not been strong or consistent enough. Based on your dewscription, I think you have a healthy gambling habit... you are aware of the risks, you spend an amount you know and that is always within your budget, you do not succumb to addiction or try to recoup your losses... I do npt think that is a problem.

My gambling style is similar to yours... I had a losing 2025, I spent more than I lost, but I do not consider myself to be at a loss... I gained a lot in entertainment, I "invested" in healthy fun, just like many others do in movies, bars, football games, concerts, etc.... everyone has their own entertainment habits, and if they are healthy and controlled, what is the problem? I was more disciplined this year in my gambling life and worked strictly with budget, financially I cannot remember making much mistakes (I am not ruling out the possibility that I made any since I'm human). However, I made some mistake in being precise with gambling timing and I gambled few times during office hours which was distracting and only regained awareness of the mess when a colleague passes by or something like that. I always relegate gambling to the last thing for the day, but I fail in my discipline few times, especially when there is less workload in the office, I see myself playing crash games , I'm actually not proud of these, it just happens  .

Been gambling online and offline for the last 10 years or so. But still my biggest regrets is control, there were times that I will quit when I was still in the positive and winning. But there will be times that I wouldn't and still continue until I've lost everything.

I guess it's going to be a mental discipline for many gamblers and as much as we already know that consequences of continuing despite that we already won, we will go on and think that we can win more. Losing $10 in a week for fun is a reasonable amount for us to pay, when gambling just for fun then we will not experience large losses because we will comply with the limits of our finances that we can afford to lose, many people experience large losses in gambling because they want to get rich quickly and think that they can make money easily through gambling so that makes such gamblers continue to play without caring about the risk of losing, they are even sometimes willing to take out loans to place bets which makes them frustrated when they lose.

My fail in 2025 was as follows:
I usually place sports bets and always enjoy trying out new providers. At the beginning of 2025, I discovered a new portal and deposited a small amount in BTC, which I actually wanted to gamble away over the weeks. However, when I placed the bet, the platform did not show me the equivalent value of the BTC in dollars, and I had a decimal point error in my BTC amount... and bet almost the entire deposit amount on one bet... and of course lost.

But there was a silver lining: since then, I double and triple check the amount I bet.

In eight days we will enter 2026, meaning that the good and bad experiences in the gambling arena are over, continuing to enter 2026, Talking about mistakes, as far as I remember, while I was carrying out gambling activities, I didn't make any mistakes.

But in 2025 I will focus on sports betting, especially football, maybe in 2024 I will often make mistakes, because I often gamble on slots, Roulette, dice, poker and so on, well as long as I focus on sports betting I almost never make mistakes,the bet I made was right on target.

This means that from the experience in 2025 I can learn a lesson, maybe I should just focus on sports betting, rather than other types of gambling, in 2025 I will have the most valuable experience in the gambling arena, meaning in the future, don't make bets on types of games that we don't understand.

My budget for gambling seems a mistake this year. Usually I do allocate up to $200 per year for my gambling and sportsbetting but this year as we entered in 2025 with strong bullish trend in bitcoin market, I was little excited and just doubled the budget but now on seeing bitcoin is slowly going down, and the amount of bitcoin I have spent for gambling looking like a big mistake of this year. By mid of 2025, I was in plan to reduce my gambling after few frustrating bets but when bitcoin crossed $100k level, I changed my mind and ended up in more losses than my plan.

Decisions out of emotions are always leading to pain. I worked on budget for my gambling for more than 5 years but this year slightly a miss out due to bullish bitcoin market. Hopefully I will be within my limit in 2026 to avoid any regret in 2027.

Losing when I gamble early morning. I keep losing most of the time when playing casino games right after I eat my breakfast.

Probably this is due to my overconfidence and unaware about the risk since my mind is still fresh from sleep. I usually get some funds from my investments at this time that’s why I’m tempted to gamble.

Why do you play in the morning? I don't really care what time I go to the casino. I don't see much of a difference. I just tried playing early yesterday, and the result was the same. If the casino isn't set up to ensure the player wins, then strategies and timing are useless. I've learned this from personal experience over many years of gambling. A wrongful bet does not mean a mistake when you look at it from the other side. The luck was bad and not with our side, thats all. There are thoughts like this was a wrong bet while it may have been a right analysis.

Still chasing losses or not stopping at the right time are mistakes. I did not have any this year, because I control my playing sessions to minimum.
