I think it's just a legal disclaimer or a law stated by the government to create awareness, because a lot of individuals will blame the companies with the excuse of not being aware of the implications, just like the cigarette companies will warn customers of the implications but still produce. It's not the gambling company that will tell you how to use your money. As a gambler, it's your responsibility to gamble well, because at last you will be the one to be held accountable for any bad decision you make while gambling.

But in case there are truly stupid people in the world, or in case there are nefarious entities that would try to exploit the casino, then Responsible Gambling in the terms of agreement exists.

The gambling site do not encourage anyone to gambles above their limits.
It is your obligation to have a total self control while gambling and you should what is good and what is not good for you before you start doing it, because if you can't control yourself while doing this means that you are becoming carried away by greed and only a greedy fellow who could easily becomes addicted to gambling with hope to win something very big in the next moment.

It's probably BOTH. They want legal protection from the Responsible Gambling features and the warnings/suggestions/advice the Terms Of Service, AND they don't want their own users to lose everything they have in a short amount of time. If people are going to lose in the casino, the casino owners want them to lose slowly and they want them to be entertained while losing so they keep coming back.

WHICH probably is good for both the casinos and the gamblers. Both groups got what they want out of the past time called gambling.

We're all adults, and based on KYC requirements at some casinos, gamblers must be of full responsibility. In stores, clerks don't warn us that alcohol and cigarettes are harmful.
Yes, it's written on boxes and labels, but everyone is responsible for themselves, and so I believe casinos already warn gamblers enough about the dangers.

well, i don't think the casinos have the gamblers vest interest at heart, maybe it would be a little insensitive to say this but they profit off gambling addicts, this is how their business grows. Although they always put disclaimers about gambling addiction on their sites stating that they shouldn't get addicted to gambling but that's not really done because they are concerned about gamblers getting addicted

It can make sense when comparing the understanding with cigarettes where they companies display and show the dangers but still many people use them, this is included in the evasion of the law because both products can have severe risks when the user has an addiction, and the government requires that the company give warnings to its customers so that they do not make mistakes but they continue to promote trends and styles in addition.

This is arguable; many believe that casinos are mainly and more interested in addicted gamblers than every other gambler since they are considered to be spending more on gambling. It's okay to think that, but also have it in mind that we have high rollers out there whose stakes add great numbers to the casino funding. Most of the addicted people are those who don't wager much based on their finances, but more of the money casinos make is actually not just from addicts.

They are legally obligated to offer certain type of protections for vulnerable people. But they can't force you not to gamble if you really want it and if you are eligible to use their services. They are not anyone's nanny.

But what do you mean by "shielding"? They are just complying with regulations, or you see following laws as some sort of shielding? Motives behind it doesn't really matter, but if casinos would offer these services purely because of their good hearts, these laws wouldn't need to exist in the first place. And any prevention systems are costing income to casinos, so what do you think?

that for sure, or what do you expect? do you want them to come openly and tell gamblers to not gamble responsibly? from my own understanding, i just see it that those businesses that involves risk, they always warn people ahead of time to shield themselves against government violation. they will always make it legal for people to be awear about the risk and danger in what they are into. so that when the danger comes, you would not hold anyone responsible for not letting them know about the risk involve.

actually if you check it, its not a wrong statement. gamble responsibly is an advice, it is now left alone for you to chose either to follow your emotion or follow the advice of the casino.

Probably just a pshycological thing where people think that casino is somehow concern about the addiction thing but somehow having a lot of contradictions since casino is profiting from the player losses and games, so they wanted more player to play, but they are not encouraging player and making it somehow look like that they wanted people to gamle less in the casino but it is actually the opposite what they are saying on this disclaimers.

It is for sure used on legalities and to protect the casino, since it is not really something that you might just advertise, it is still a registered business, probably just about the accountability thing they just don't want to get blamed when someone's life gets destroyed because of gambling, so they always do this kind of slogans to limit users. Pretty sure it is going to be a lot of problem when they get sued, so this could reduce that thing for them since they could easily say that they don't encourage it but promoting responsible gambling, etc. Just imagine if they are doing the opposite right? like Gamble irresponsible something like that its not going to be a good marketing as well.

This is how Responsible gambling works in casino It creates an illusion which makes gambler feel that he is not going to do anything stupid, and in fact he does not do anything stupid, but continue gambling. Every casino has that responsible gambling feature such as self-exclusion, limits on deposit, forced pauses (when game stops running and you need to refresh your browser), casino logs gamblers out (after a day, week,...), but they are so easy to ignore to bypass.

Of course there are no sites that force players to continue playing until they exceed their limits, it is not a proposal that they set, but they play the player's mind with victory so that the player will return when they have thought of winning in gambling so naturally the player will come back again. And in my opinion, responsible gambling is one way of protecting ourselves, but sometimes there are still many people who gamble irresponsibly.

Addiction to illicit substances is a human instinct. No matter how much a person tries to stay away from addiction, there are things that encourage a person to become addicted. The same is true in the case of gambling. Just like it is written on the packaging of smoking products that "smoking is harmful to health", even if you write on every page of gambling platforms that "gambling increases the risk of losing money", people will still gamble. Because greed and addiction have taken them to such a level that no matter what, they will continue gambling. We often see in newspapers that 'A' kills 'B' to get gambling money. Or parents are killed by their children for not getting gambling money. Then imagine one or the other case and see what level the addiction has actually reached. Honestly, an addicted person cannot recover from addiction unless he wants to and makes small changes in himself.
