Announcing ShadowPulse (aka SP): The Bitcointalk Alternative Recognition Tool.  A browser extension designed to enhance the forum by allowing members to recognize quality content.

I programmed it with the following features:

Spam resistant community sentiment.  You can vote from 1-5 on each topic or post.  SP uses a matrix system requiring two “3” votes for every “2” or “4” vote, and two of those for every “1” or “5” vote.  It keeps track of your desired votes and moves it as space becomes available.  Each score is calculated and displayed close to instantly.  The extension tracks each page view but does not associate it with your account.  Ranking and historical ranking are available via reports.

Smart Toolbar.  A sleek, non-intrusive toolbar at the bottom of your screen provides instant access to tools without cluttering that classic forum look.  If you don’t want to vote but still view scores, MINIMIZE mode  tucks it away into a small, floating logo when not in use (with optional BTC graph). It creates zero distraction while reading.

A quick search is available by clicking on the logo, although improving the search results have not been worked on yet.

No Sign-Up Required SP works immediately upon installation.  It provides a way to backup your private UUID as there is no way to associate an extension reinstall with your old UUID.
Local Storage Only  I use your browser's local storage to save your preferences (like Theme, Toolbar Position, Auto-Minimize, Search Engine) and an anonymous installation token (UUID).
Dynamic Member Names  Change at will to obfuscate your usage.  Not associated to anything.

Reports will be limited until data is produced.  Please reply to this topic with any bugs, feature requests, or general feedback.

A shame I don't usually use extensions
But I have some questions

Doesn't the vote look similar to that of merit
Which is supposed to show quality post
Or is there some weight on forum users rank or something to prevent vote spamming if that's even a thing.
Would downvotes be implemented? And would voters be made transparent?

Could you simplify this bit for me? How I understand it, each time I vote "2" or "4" on a post I need to make 2 "3" votes and 2 of those for every "1" or "5". If I'm right does this then hide the post from my view or just displays the total vote tally and ranks the post as spam or quality?

For this to work, I think most users have to check through the various posts on a thread. I feel people just read through the posts they relate to and reply to that if it's necessary. Voting on each post may not be something a lot of users would want to do. I very well could be the one who doesn't understand this fully yet to know it's merits.

I just have a few questions, if you don't mind answering.

1. Can this tool be used in a mobile browsers that supports extension use? I have been using a couple myself, for this forum such as BPIP, BitcoinTalk Mobile etc.
2. And will you release a firefox version for it? I'm only seeing for Chrome! I mainly use TOR and Firefox.

EDIT: I might have found a little bug/error. Apperantly the extension isn't avaliable from my end. And even with signed in I'm getting the same "Item not avaliable" error.

The web store can take a few weeks to approve the official app.  In the meantime, I provided a link to my github where anyone can review the code.  I will be releasing a firefox version, and then mobile versions.

First of all, you don't need to vote a specific way.   If you only want to vote 5s you can, and the system will eventually move the votes as space in your personal matrix becomes available.    You can view your matrix at https://shadowpulse.live/reports/matrix.php (link in the extension fills in your UUID).

You can vote on a topic you like, or a post you like.  Or you can just browser in MINIMIZE and contribute to the most popular pages.  https://shadowpulse.live/reports/most_visited.php   (Right now it's only me so you can deduce what I visit, but these stats are not linked to individual users.)

A lot of your questions are answered in the OP.   Merit is an incremental value assigned to a member via a post.  sMerit distribution is centralized.  Voting is an average ranked by value then date.  You cannot vote directly on members and it is universal and private.
