You've said it the right way Danny. Some gamblers reply just to look disciplined and so that people will see that you are successful even when in reality is a different thing and that is why test or no test, it is important to honestly assess yourself from time to time especially towards the end of the year. But what i think is very important is to have a personal review of yourself. What you think about gambling addiction and you should be able to figure out if you are a victim of addiction and to what extent too.

I don't know what "triggered" the quiz, but it sounds excessive for someone who's only gambling on the weekends and on football matches. I certainly don't have an issue with gambling, but now that I'm thinking it again, that's exactly what a gambling addict would say! 

Anyway, a quiz can't provide with accurate results, but may provide some guidance to people who may need it.

Another year will end, and another year will begin, so how's your experience in the last 12 months? How good it is, how bad it is, and how do you intend to change your gambling habit?

My gambling history over the past 12 months has been both good and bad, especially at the beginning of the year I had some good wins at gambling. I had a very bad time in the middle of the year but towards the end of the year and this Christmas period I am having a bit of a good time. Although I am not 100% satisfied. I make some common mistakes which if I can overcome then I can gamble better. The fact is that sometimes I cannot control myself. Although I know that I should not lose control in any way but when I do suddenly it happens then the number of losses increases. If I can solve this problem completely then my gambling results will be comparatively better.

Going through a lot of the replies and it seems that a lot of people are really making progress eith battling gambling addiction, but the problem here is that a lot of people won't be really honest with their response. personally, I don't wait till the end of the year before I access myself on how I have been gambling, it is something I make sure I do at the end of every month but if I don't gamble for a particular month then I don't bother. whenever I notice that I lost more than I won in a particular month I find out the root of the problem and if possible cut down on playing the same games that has not been profitable to me in that particular month

Looks like I'll have to be more careful next year. lol. Honestly, a few months ago, maybe before the new season of the major leagues started, I made a small mistake by gambling out of control, but I personally think the loss was tolerable because I'm only a small-time gambler. Whatever the reason, I have to admit it. Hopefully next year will be much better especially in terms of winnings.

I was a little surprised to see that the test answers seemed to indicate I was addicted. I only chose answers about honesty and felt fine, with no signs of addiction.

I've read through a lot of this test participants posts and I didn't see anyone with a reflag but all are green. Does it mean non have any negative habit with the excellent remarks?

Except that some persons are not honest in what they're filling or clicking as reply in the box, but such self denial could be harmful to the individual because it's like they ain't accepting what they have become which is the first step to start healing from the addiction. But if we look at the countless discussions on gambling addiction and prevention measures it should be something to encourage people take steps towards reducing any bad gambling habits.

To give a vivid answer to this question will mean that I should lie to paint what looks like a so too good gambling journey because at the end, there's a lot of ups and downs that every gambler experiences in every year but at the end, not the downs and ups matters, what matters most is if the gambler is able to do proper assesment such that he identifies what leads to whatever exceses the gambler might have gone during the year. After you've identified the excess, it's to launch into the new with a better version of yourself so you don't continue trading the part you've been involved in years back.

Just going through your gambling activity for the year doesn't mean one is addicted to gambling. What also needs to be checked is the amount of money used in gambling for every bet.

If it is truly an amount that you can afford to lose, then that's fine. However, if we gamble simply because we want to win by all means and allocate any amount of money, it means one is gambling not in the right way.
 If the money used in gambling for the year is what you can afford, it means one has done very well, no matter what your gambling activity is.
