I'm not surprised that the no is topping the number of responses to this forum mini survey on gambling for fun or making profit. Generally we are seeing that gambling is not for fun because most people losing are not seeing it as fun.

I didn't gamble much this year that is about to end in few days but for the times I gambled, my answer is also NO.

I didn't make profit but I lost just a little because I was careful not to become addicted. So No is my response too.

If I understood you correctly, you use martingale to gamble, or as you were losing, you were increasing the money that you are using to bet? But luckily you hit 35x which would be a huge amount of money. Congrats but this is very risky. I have tried it before and it worked but as I continued to try it, It failed me and later lose to the gambling site.

It won't be easy to calculate my winnings and losses in 2025, but the simple answer for me is that I didn't make any money from gambling this year.

Honestly, I do need any reminder on how to gamble and what to expect from gambling but keep trying and burning fingers are continuing for years. I still remember how I got back to gambling as I made resolution of staying away from gambling in 2025, first I started to think like sportsbetting is not a gambling to try and then to recover the loss in sportsbetting I tried slots which were already available in my account as a promotional bets.

Lol, I don't think there's any reason to lie about this. Majority of gamblers here are in deep losses and I'm not left out. At around August this year I took a huge loss in my gambling, though not as huge as you think but the biggest in 2025.. since then I've not been able to recover myself.. I guess it's because I've not really been up steady with gambling for some time now, I just gamble during some important football matches and that's all.. Ive bemm really busy with things off the internet and that includes gambling.. but then I hope the coming year would be better than the last.. we should remember to always have the mindset that gambling is just for fun, not to make some bad ass profits..

Seems like a useless poll tbh. Obviously most are losers overall throughout the year. Poll the whole world and you'll probably find a very small % are winners. Actually I just did a search and 5% or less of the worlds population are profitable in sports gambling.

Before voting, I predicted the majority would pick no, and I was right. I also voted no. It's hard to make money from gambling. Once you win, you are tempted to go back again to try to duplicate your winnings and eventually lose what you've won. Many of us are doing this.
If you play responsibly in 2025, then there's nothing to change and to keep doing that, but if you lose a huge amount, it's time to reflect and try to minimize your losses to the point that it will not hurt your pocket.

I don't think there will be someone stupid enough to lie that he did play consistently and ended the year up in profit as gambling is not designed that way. I personally have lost massively, up to the point that I choose myself to self-exclude from my main casinos that I play with an indefinite timeline meaning that I am not turning back. Also I am not at all looking for new casinos as I don't have time, money and also nerves to start leveling up VIP levels from the beginning, so for me it was a total no and a total disgrace as a year this 2025 in gambling. I doubt a lot of other people have felt the wrath of gambling if done consistently as me during this year so I choose that NO option without thinking twice, I also doubt 2026 will be my year, maybe will be the year I only play for fun.

I don't win much but I also do not lose much. I am controlling myself to avoid more losses. I experienced a big loss in the past so I won't repeat it. It is enough to lose in gambling but lose big, hm I don't want to have that anymore.

I will be honest and admit that I didn't make any money as far as I know, so my answer is no. But I guess there's no need to understand our answers because it's really hard to. Even if we know that we're in the losing end, majority of us here will continue to gamble no matter what. I guess that's our mentality here, that it's hard to escape gambling despite the negative effects not just financially, but emotionally and physically. This year, even though there were some wins, there were still more losses. So this year, I didn't make any money from gambling. 
I only allocated a small portion, but I gambled fairly regularly. Throughout the year, I only got a few big wins, of course, the amount I deposited over the year was greater than what I withdrew.

I understand that the survey results are not representative, but nevertheless I am surprised that almost a quarter of the participants manage to make money through gambling. It's more like trying to appear better than really are.)
