Maybe the old religious stories were always metaphors.

Maybe walking on water meant transcending material circumstances through belief.

Maybe resurrection meant ideas outliving their creators.

Maybe virgin birth meant creating something from nothing through sheer will.

Or maybe they were just stories that worked and made strangers cooperate and gave people a reason to sacrifice for something beyond themselves.

All i know is that we killed those stories and replaced them with nothing and now we're watching what nothing looks like at civilizational scale.

The societies that figure out how to build new myths that work with smartphones will make it.

People today think facts are what's on Wikipedia but MYTHS are what make you get up in the morning.

Just like 2024 was yesterday, we're already saying another "Merry Xmas". How time flies. In a week's time, 2025 will expire and never to be seen again till the end of time.

On the flip side of it all, traffic in town today was really hectic. I took a moment to reflect on what the heck people even rush to do in market places at this time just for a day or two celebration. For me, it's a waste of energy.

By the way, the best Xmas gift anyone can wish for is sound mind and good health, not the merriments we see a lot of people do.
