I didn't find that you were a reckless gambler, because you really understand limits and you use a measurable budget every month, so it can't be said to be reckless gambling. Because basically reckless gambling is when you are so desperate to gamble, you play without a plan and without feeling guilty about spending so much money that you even need to go into debt just to be able to continue the game, this can only be said to be reckless gambling. And usually this is so related to gambling addiction, although in many cases it is not.

It's very simple, if you don't have boundaries and feel the need to satisfy your gambling habits by going as far as taking loan to do this then trust me you are definitely going to the edge of ending up being a gambling addict and that's way too excessive in gambling because there is a reason why gambling is always termed to be played for fun and not more because of you have idea of using it as a means of money making.

However, you are wasting time with that hypocrisy because if I said I gamble with 99% of my income you would say that it is bad and that it is no longer subjective. If an arbitrary line is made where % turns into recklessness at some high point, then it is nonsense. Up to 5% of income should go to gambling and that is even generous. Less is always better.

Going by your thread I don't see you as a reckless gambler OP. The most important rule when it comes to gambling has always been leave when you get to your limit and only gamble with funds that will not affect you when you eventually lose while gambling from your explanation you allocates a certain percentage of your income for the purpose of gambling which is the best thing to do so there is nothing wrong with your gambling activities. What your friend don't know about you is your strong gambling discipline which you have for yourself, he doesn't know the strict rules you are applying to in your gambling. Yes it is true the biggest trait of those who gamble recklessly is that they cannot control themselves and jump to bet very quickly and they avoid small bets and place each single bet of a very large amount, so that if they win there they can win a very large amount from there which will help them change their financial situation very quickly. And when they lose in gambling and lose a lot of money at that time they become even more reckless because at that time they are very excited to recover their losses. And because of this they lose more and more in the future and destroy their financial situation due to their reckless habit.

Yeah, I have been called reckless gambling by a friend as I do gamble frequently but I often maintain responsible gambling, but this friend of mine keeps calling me a reckless gambler. At first when gambling, I make sure my money used to gamble doesn't exceed my budget and I do allocate 15 percent of weekly/monthly income to gamble and whenever this allocation is exhausted I do not care to gamble anymore and I am also stick to my rules and regulation whereby even though I am gambling and I ran into lose and exhausted my initial deposit you wouldn't see going further to make additional deposit just to satisfy the urge at that moment.

Please I would like to know if any body who is actually keeping to his rules and regulation without aggressively keep gambling can be called a reckless gambler? I do not actually like such words, though I wanted to start reacting to him based how he do sees me gambling and before that I just want to know what you think about his consistent action towards me.

From what you described, you gambling habits doesn't sound reckless....A reckless gambler are ruleless gamblers who chase their losses, ignore their set limits and gamble with funds which are meant for basic expenses....But then you are doing the complete opposite which makes you not reckless....That being said, I feel that anyone who doesn't gamble may see those who gamble as reckless e en though that gambler may be gambling within his limit... Yes that is true and when gambling it is that better to keep our gambling budgets within 5% within a week but if OP is saying that the amount is entirely for the whole month then I don't see it as something bad as, 15% can be quiet reasonable depending on how frequent s/he do gambles could depend whether such amount is low or higher
For me, I do have specific amount I do use to gamble per bet as I do not spend above that amount per bet and is being divided across all my bets then I will know how often I would be online gambling and to know if such amount can actually serve me to finished the whole month allocation.

  From your explanation, you are not a reckless gambler but you are seem to be using too much money from your earning, probably, that's why the person is calling you reckless because you use 15% of your income instead of using just 5% and 10%. Why did you not even ask him his reasons for calling your reckless? He's holding that information from your and you should ask him why. A reckless gambler is someone that doesn't have self control in gambling and mismanage funds in gambling, if you are not doing that, then you are not a reckless gambler.

There is need to investigate more deeply on the foundation of such allegations in order to prevent any misconceptions in societal affairs. The tight budget is all that will save us in the event of going broke because of the unexpected currency gambooling. The fact that all the pennies are being added up in the right direction keeps us in the track despite the pressure of the society.

To investigate more means that the OP's friend who is calling him a reckless gambler have to know about OP's financial capabilities, he has to know how much he is earning which will verify that OP is not reckless but is still very responsible because he is gambling with a very small budget if you compare his earnings to how much he is spending. If OP already has a tight budget, without telling his friend about it, he would continue to have misconception about him but it doesn't matter, people should learn to pay a deaf ear to any criticism that is not true.

When gambling is done without any target, discipline and strategy, I can say that it's recklessness for sure. Anything else outside of this is a step better than just betting on any type of odds, without a proper evaluation. I'm one person that holds to the opinion that one shouldn't be told what and whatnot to do with their hard-earned money, but when you begin to experience the aftermath of your recklessness, nobody deserves to be dragged into it.

Anything more than 2% of the total income for a month is already too much to give away. I don't care what fortune could be waiting for me; it's better to not play and save money, than try to find opportunities that cost even more money, without certainty.

Hmm... 15 percent of your total income seems like a pretty large sum on entertainment. I spend about 5-7 percent, definitely no more than 10 percent. And that's all I spend on entertainment each month. This includes ordering takeout, going to the movies and theater, and, of course, gambling and betting.

So I think you're spending too much on this entertainment. There was a time in my life when I wanted to avoid feeling lonely, so I played poker and slots a lot, but then I realized that this was leading me to addiction and that it would be better for me to stop spending so much time alone. So now, gambling doesn't seem to be a priority for me.

I don't think that's a reckless gambler if you have money allocated only for the month to gamble. It's actually the right path to avoid chaos in your financial side. Maybe he is just the type who believes in traditional things, and he just wants you to stop whatever you are doing.
If he is a gambler, then I believe he is just jealous that you can keep it under control. Maybe what he tells you is not really for you, but it's all for him. Let's assume that you have no money aside from just 100 bucks, that is your only money and you have to pay your bills with that, but you stop and decide to gamble with it, that is reckless gambler, doesn't matter if you ended up winning or losing. You are doing everything right. The only thing I would like to say is that you don't necessarily have to set aside and gamble away 15% of your income every month. Sometimes you can gamble away less, and in the end, you will have more money, and you will be able to gamble just as much as before. As for criticism from friends, almost everyone has some habit that either takes away money or health. Based on this, most people are a little reckless Some people spend a lot of money on unhealthy food, but consider themselves completely normal. Some people spend money on expensive restaurants, and to some, this may seem wasteful if the person is living beyond their means.
