How do you classify reckless gambling as?

Yeah, I have been called reckless gambling by a friend as I do gamble frequently but I often maintain responsible gambling, but this friend of mine keeps calling me a reckless gambler. At first when gambling, I make sure my money used to gamble doesn't exceed my budget and I do allocate 15 percent of weekly/monthly income to gamble and whenever this allocation is exhausted I do not care to gamble anymore and I am also stick to my rules and regulation whereby even though I am gambling and I ran into lose and exhausted my initial deposit you wouldn't see going further to make additional deposit just to satisfy the urge at that moment.

The fact that you have budget that you stick to has automatically define that you are not a reckless gambler, someone who is reckless in gambling will always go beyond their budget anytime they are losing and I want to believe this your friend is just trying to piss you off or making fund of you and sometimes if you don't control yourself it can result to a fight or something more and since you are not one, the best thing is to avoid that your friend or better still stay away from him or her before you loose it some day and I actually feel your pains.

Surely your friend to give these definitions is afraid to venture, this is not a defect but it is a characteristic of his character and his way of acting, so from his point of view he is right.
As a gambler, however, I tell you that if you truly stick to these rules, you are not reckless and you are prudent. If you can even stop after losing your best, you simply have full control over your emotions, and this reduces the risk of making you commit nonsense.
Don't let yourself be influenced by what people tell you, but let common sense guide you, you will see that you will never make mistakes.

A reckless gambler is someone who gambles irresistibly without control and limits, you might be called that basically due to your friends observation and conclusions but you know yourself best to be sure of when you're going against your line. But on a better thought your friend might be wrong from his perceptions ane sometimes it sure would piss you off his attitudes towards you but trust me you have to keep calm when you know your onions that your sure gambling safe.

If your gambling budget doesn't have any negative effect on the financial, mental and social aspects of your life, then you are not reckless. Nobody has the right to determine who you are because you are the one who is fully responsible for the outcome of your life. My gambling budget is not more than five percent of my income. This because the cost of living in my country is high, so I need to spend less on entertainment.

Just accept that you're a reckless gambler you have all the indice, you bet everyday , you allocate your monthly profit to gambling and you set budget for it. With these your are an addict and your friend is right, he's trying to make you a better person but your won't accept. Is only gambling addicts that cut their monthly stipend to gamble, you have to go back to your friend and listen to him. If you continue like this you will suffer, because the money you're setting aside monthly for gambling if you save it you will be a millionaire at the end of the year. Think right and Adjust.

A reckless gambler is just one without a rule or might even have a rule but cant keep to the rule.  They find it difficult of how to control their urge and emotion in gambling. 

A reckless gambler just gambles based on how they feel , normally gambling is supposed to be played with just the amount that you can afford to lose and when you exceed your limit in gambling you dont have to keep playing but to stop but a reckless gambler would want to continueing gambling to recover lose or to win more. A reckless gambler can even go to the extreme of using winning money in gambling to still gamble more for more wins.

Someone will only call you reckless if they saw a characteristic that you are being what they described. It’s hard to speculate based on what you said since that’s what most gambler think they are doing before they start noticing that addiction is already slowly taking over.

You should ask your friend on how you become reckless on his eyes. Some people consider the whole gambling activity as reckless regardless if you gamble responsibly.

But we all know that playing responsibly like the one you are describing is not reckless gambling.

I also have that same sentiment, as long as you still have that full control not exceeding from your allocated budget then you are not answerable to whoever questioning you, it's your hard earned money and it's your choice where to spend your money, though also same with what you said, that's 15% for an average income earner or those who only gaining minimum that's something huge but who knows if you how you budget your expenses.

Your money, your choice and if you set things up and allocate such amount as long as you are not barrowing and not bothering anyone, it's a decision that only you who can dictate.

Maybe, but just maybe you get easily offended. Maybe you got it wrong. You are not a reckless gambler... you know how much you can spend on gambling, and that part is fine. But maybe your gambling style can be called "reckless"... When you are throwing bets & expect a miracle. Most of us are doing that... we are buying bonuses & we expect a miracle. It's the thing with luck-based games, random bets on sport, and going all in with any top pair in poker... You either rely solely on luck (which is reckless in so many ways), or you are skilled, and there is some "math & thinking" behind your actions.

That's the only problem that I see there. I feel that 15% is too much because it can lead to addiction faster since he will have more time to gamble or bet with high amount of money. I use less than 5% for my gambling budget which I have plans to reduce it by next year because I will be very busy with work.

My opinion on OP is that he is a responsible gambler because he manages his gambling allocation, reckless gambling is said to be gambling without calculating the capital that must be spent, reckless gamblers do not calculate or set their gambling budget, they just play according to their wishes

Yes, irresponsible gamblers don't always have a allocation, they gamble with what they have, today they can risk $100 and the next day they can risk $500, they don't have a particular amount they use for gambling, this is the first step that every irresponsible gamblers takes.

No control, no allocation, no limit.

You can't even advise them because they always hate advices, they believe that you are trying to stop them from achieving something greater, until they learn their lessons later when it's already looking too late.

I mean seems like you know what you are doing and thats evident already if you have some kind of plans, strategy and you manage your finances well, just having some kind of allocation on gambling is already a good sign I wouldn't going to called that reckless gambling at all since you are doing great in my opinion, its a calculated risk even though I would probably lower that gambling percentage to around 5% and probably only gamble for like once a month, In my opinion it's the safest and it avoid having some kind of hope on gambling which I prefer to only gamble for fun and entertainment.

In my opinion, the way I observe some is they most likely just jealous kinda like it, or someone that make a little amount of gambling, its like some traders where they make a 10$ amount in trader and suddenly become a trading guru because he thinks that he already know everything without really having a solid experience on cryptocurrency. This is probably what your friend is he just want to teach someone even though he doesn't have the knowledge, its like the kruger effect or something. So i suggest dont mind these kind of people and just mind your own business they dont really going to matter anyway.

I didn't find that you were a reckless gambler, because you really understand limits and you use a measurable budget every month, so it can't be said to be reckless gambling. Because basically reckless gambling is when you are so desperate to gamble, you play without a plan and without feeling guilty about spending so much money that you even need to go into debt just to be able to continue the game, this can only be said to be reckless gambling. The word "reckless" could mean acting without thinking and proper consideration, and in this case you are not found to be in such situation as you maintain your losses and you gamble within your financial capacity.

Maybe he does not just understand what being a reckless gambler entails, I think he must not be into gambling as well to use such words given the case that you don't gamble recklessly. I believe his fear would be trying to help you prevent addiction and other emotional and psychological effects that could come with the tension from gambling.

You could as well explain to him what healthy gambling is and why he should not address you as a "reckless " gambler. You know your mental strength better than anyone and how long you could hold on to losses, given the fact that you bet according to your category and not exceed it , that should be a good way to go about gambling.

Gambling activity is fun, I understand the fact many get carried away with the benefits associated to an extend gambling carelessly.

They're two things that made people to be carried away in gambling
1. If you're chasing after your losses
2. When you have record wining in the gambling, that will prompt you to think that you will be recording winning, by the time you will realise, then you will be carried away

His consistent action towards you is very bad, but if that's what he thinks about your habit of gambling, then he is either saying the truth or he's wrong, the people you associate with can see things about you which you don't see or know about yourself. When someone tells me something I don't like or something that I know I'm not guilty of, I will reflect on myself first before I ask other people if I exhibit such character that has been mentioned to me.

If you feel like you're being called as a reckless gambler but your habits show otherwise, then it's better if you just ignore that friend completely.

As per Google, the definition of reckless means without thinking or caring about the consequences of an action.¹ If we pair it with the word gambler, we can conclusively say that a reckless gambler is a person who does not think about the consequences of his action and they maintain an aggressive attitude towards it.

By the above-mentioned definition, I do not think that you fall under that category. What your friend is saying is without any basis which most likely stems from a different reason. Perhaps he is jealous or envious of you; or perhaps he's just really bitter about it.
