Topic locked by admin?

I was wondering, when a topic gets locked by a moderator, is it not possible for the original author to unlock it again? I mean does OP have no power to override it, or the lock is absoulote until the moderators unlocked it again?

Maybe I never had encountered such events where my topic got locked by a moderator, so I'm not entirely sure how this works practically...anyone knows what happens?

Another member mentioned that after the boxing fight took place, 7 more pages (of 20 replies each page) were created. What was there left to say that took over 140 replies? I'm not calling out the OP here nor the topic itself, but sometimes there isn't anything else to say and everyone is reiterating what has been mentioned multiple times already. The topic was discussing an event that had already happened a while ago, it wasn't one that was still active, otherwise it wouldn't have been locked. If moderators locked it, hence, supported the report, why would it make sense to by the OP to be able to unlock what has been deemed as a spammy topic?

I'm not questioning you nor the OP nor the mod who locked that topic. And I'm not even awaree of the context of this topic mentioned by the OP, I don't believe I have ever made any interactions on that specific thread.

I am only making a simple curious minded question (theoretically speaking), whether it was possible or not, whether OP had that ability/permission, to unlock it?! Hope you understood what I meant.

Btw, if the moderator deemed it worthy to be being locked, then there's no argument here! I completely agree with the mods decision.

I see. Sorry for misinterpreting; I thought you were discussing about the topic in question. Perhaps it could only happen in the theoretical scenario to contest the moderator's decision to reconsider, which would also depend on why it got locked in the first place. There's no automated process or option to "unlock" it yourself. In the worst case scenario, you create a new thread and try to keep it in a neater state.
