OneMiners launched a holiday giveaway (they compare it to a lottery style chance to "hit the jackpot") where they're giving away small Btc miners as prizes:
Avalon Mini 3
Bitaxe Gamma 601
Nerdminer for 1st to 3rd place

The entry rules from their article + social post are basically:
follow their X account, like the giveaway post, and optionally tag friends / join telegram for extra chances
i tried to look at it from both sides.
Possible upsides- free entry (no direct payment)
- hardware prized that can actually mine even if on a small scale
- could be a good way for beginners to get their "first miner" w/out big risk
Possible downsides- real odds of winning are unknown like most online giveaways
- may just be a follower or engagement farming campaign
- some prized like nerdminer are more educational lottery devices than seruious profit machines
so im curious what the bitcointalk crowd thinks:
- do you join these giveaways or do you see them as mostly marketing noise?
- has anyone here dealt with OneMiners before and can vouch for (or warn about0 them when it comes to promos?
- if you win a small miner like bitaxe or nerdminer do you see it as a fun toy or something than can realistically pay itself off?
would be good to hear real experiences and not just pure hype.
thanks
