When I clicked a link on Gmail, the browser will open my default browser, when I pay more attention to it, I noticed it is the name of my browser but it does not look like my browser. I went to Gmail setting to disable open web link in Gmail. The link start to open on my default browser as usual. I consider that Gmail which name their browser the name of your default browser.
The same thing happened on Telegram, I thought it was Telegram build-in browser but it was disabled. I enable it and I noticed the difference. I disabled it again and the Gmail browser was the default again. Gmail shows it as my default browser name but not my default browser just like when open web link in Gmail was enable on Gmail, but it is now disabled but it is the browser that is opening when I click on link on my Telegram or other apps.
I do not download malware because I know how to avoid them, I do not think this is malware. I have some bitcoin wallets with small amount of bitcoin on the device, I just want to know if my device is safe.

Are we talking about Android phones? If it was, then it is the same as mine that pops up when clicking the link from some wallets like Ronin Wallet or in Bitget Wallet and Gmail. I think that is a built-in one from the app itself. I have never experienced any issue yet using the built-in browser as their default browser during transactions.
As of now we can't guarantee how safe it is since everything on the phone is connected to the internet; it is only good for daily transactions. Having an offline device is always recommended if you have a huge amount, and keep the small amount on the online device that you usually use daily.

The truth of the matter is, There is nothing wrong with that change of format on your default browser just because you clicked on a link from your Gmail, because clicking on a link From a Gmail can make your default browser to appear in another different format, it is as a result of Private mode and Incognito mode, because many Gmail apps open links on a private mode or temporary session, so this has nothing to do with malware. And as far as an concern your Bitcoin's are safe, but if you are not still satisfy with what I just said and still feeling uncomfortable with that of change of format on your default browser you can still move your Bitcoin out from that device to another device.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like OP is describing Android System WebView instead of some random apps. Based on what I've read, it seems like some apps do implement this directly to avoid using an external app/browser to open links. Maybe you can check further if you still see the in-app view from your phones, check the extra menu, and see if you can see details about the browser that you use.

I'm assuming it's an Android device It's inbuilt and when you click a link it shows with limited function Except you click on the option open in browser. So if it's what I think it is then it's a normal experience. I do not download malware because I know how to avoid them
If you did your device won't be connected to the internet Cause as long as you are There's always a possibility of the device Been infected by malware (okay I'm just been extreme) .

Yes that is true but all the apps and browsers that I have on the device have their download disabled because I disable them to download anything.

Can you possibly give us a img of what exactly is going on.. I didn’t get the part where you said “ I noticed it is the name of my browser but it does not look like my browser” I can only interpret it as web view, that’s what you’re describing. in that case it perfectly okay, the app itself like the gmail and Telegram controls the window normally. I still don’t get the naming part, maybe a bit clarification will do.

i think its okay, because gmail and telegram have their own built-in browser app and its different from your browser, if you use android device gmail built-in browser app use your chrome browser cookies, if you think your device infected please install anti-virus on your device and scan it

I had a hard time reading your Topic OP, but if you are worried about links opening in browsers other than your browser of choice then I am pretty sure it does not matter that much. Links with creeping scripts do not matter if they are opened in Chrome, Firefox, Opera or what ever other browser. Downloading in Chrome also does not make things any Safer in my opinion than downloading them in the WebView.
The important thing is that you do not open random links, do not download random files et cetera. And most important of all is that you make sure the Bitcoin you have on the main phone is not an amount you would cry over losing.

Thank you all for your replies, it is not a malware, all of you that are using Android will start noticing this soon on your devices. I have seen another person that this has happened to also. I hope Google will fix this which is not good at all.

Alright I get that you are having some issues with your mobile browser but not exactly sure what it is. It would have been much easier to provide a solution if you would have just pasted the screenshots of your issue. From what I get, there's nothing wrong with your browsers and its just how the default view opens when you click a link from Gmail and Telegram.

While I'll say your story was a bit complicating to comprehend, I'll only give you some candid advice that you should install internet antivirus to block to enhance your device security whenever it's connected to online. You should also help yourself by being extremely concious of links you clicks from your device. Especially when it exits in a file that contains your private informations such as the Gmail. Don't just click from untrusted and unfamiliar sources so that you don't misbehave in giving permission to scammer's.

When you download a malware, you may not even know that you downloaded a malware. Laptop and phones get infected through a means which can be an application or extension. Some android users that want their phones to have features of extension fall into the scam. Most Android browser extensions are jot from original source because they don't provide one, it's some developers that find a way to tweak apps to make one for people, that's one of the ways malware are downloaded into phone.

Why are most people on this forum do not like to read other things that have been posted and not read only the beginning post? You did not read my third post. Well I'll assume I didn't read your third post because after reading few repliers post I was satisfied enough to make my own opinion. I've a lot to attend to and isn't compulsory that I must read all posts through in a thread before I'll make my point. If I may ask, why didn't you stated it earlier in your Op that it wasn't a malware issue so that you don't have to keep readers skeptic about what the scenario could be? That means your parent post was incomplete. So you think not reading your post now makes me an inefficient user of the forum? Anyways learn to use the edit bar space to make your parent post is comprehensive next time to save readers time. Hence, my advice remains vital and valid because you wouldn't know when scammers may use related scheme to invade targets device to do their evils. So it's still necessary to have anti malware software on your device even though it's an android or whatever brand. I'm also sure your were skeptic about the link opening from an unpermitted browser. So why the buzz?

We have to be more careful if some permissions we granted to some of these requests received from Google, because they seem to be introducing on ones privacy, when they will make it appear as if they are allowing for the use of your default browser, whennonntge actually reality, they are only making it appear that same manner with your browser content, but the real app being used to open the link wasn't your browser, but their Google, I could remember of similar experience some times back, I don't know if this is safe at all or bridge on user's data on the browser allowing Google to override on the intended app for browsing, let's be security conscious, Google are keeping track of all we do and we should not safe anything on their storage or apps.

Avoid clicking the link indicate scam or fake link sent us malware application better set up your default browser usually email have own browser to open any link clicked. If you open trough mobile phone set up the setting need allow or permission firstly if want installing new application exactly the app link download trough website not app already at Playstore. Firstly you must out your email already spam by many fake link and use email with high privacy not registering at many airdrop site, I think the scammer easily sent the fake link to your email because your email account find anywhere exactly at airdrop spread sheet. I linked email account both mobile phone and computer, if unknow sender sent any link to me will open trough computer by using not default browser and its my trick to avoid from fake link or malware app.

man that is a scary situation to be in especially when you have your btc on the same device, to be honest using a dedicated device for crypto that you never use for browsing or email is the only way to be 100 percent safe these days, if you are seeing weird browsers loading on their own you probably already have some kind of malware or a malicious script running in the background, i would move those coins to a fresh wallet on a different device immediately before the scammer figures out how to bypass your security, lol it is crazy how these airdrop hunters get targeted because their data is literally everywhere for scammers to find, stay safe and maybe think about a hardware wallet if you are gonna keep holding
