No, I do not have any around me that will be so careless to waste his full salary, including bonuses on gambling this period. Where I am from, everyone both single and married are focused on shopping for the Christmas celebration for not only themselves, but for immediately family members, extended family members and friends, including neighbours as it is a tradition to share gifts these period. It is a bad decision for a gambler to choose to risk huge amounts these period on something that is highly uncertain and unpredictable. There's no reasonable excuse to give for such behaviour.

I cant see something similar happened around me where do I live but even if it is happening, it is absolutely their own right and I cant blame them.
Lets say I also get an extra salary, I may use it for gambling as well, maybe the whole amount or part of it only depending on my own recent financial situation.

Christmas bonus or not, people are free to make decision on how they are to engage spending their money or bonus, but is is not wise enough that we don't plan for such and ended up blowing it into gambling, i understand we may claim being an entertainment purpose for the festive season and this is not the bad of it all, but planning something and having something to fall back at is also necessary, if we are capable to use all on gambling and still be financially buoyant, then nothing is bad, but some would have spent away everything to later solicit for help after being left with nothing.

Well I don’t know where you live but it seem like it’s in a place filled with gambling activities like the Las Vegas area. Oh I wish we have 14th month bonus. We only have 13th month bonus but government employee here have 14th month bonus. It’s not mandated by the law here to give it on private sector which it sucks.

No I don't have similar colleague.
There might be someone among us who does this same thing but chooses to not tell other's except the ones close to them. If I have such a colleague what I will do is advice them because it's not proper. A gambler who can do this type of thing is someone that does not people that look up to him. For someone who has a family, he will know that a festive season like this they need to gift their love ones including their friends.

You're right, there's enough reasons to gamble as much as we like since it's holiday and also christmas season which I'm not against that but, using our Christmas bonus to gamble doesn't seem like a good idea to me. If a guy want to enjoy the holidays in gambling then he should use other money to gamble rather than using his Christmas bonus because that bonus is supposed to be share among our families or better still use it for other important stuffs, it will make alot of sense if we spend it that way. Although everyone have the right to use thier christmas bonus as they like.
