I don't think it's dead; maybe it just needs a hand. What if the local communities collaborated on content? Those who can could be granted limited access to upload videos (as private*) for pre-approval*. In the long run, I believe local content (from any board, not just mine) could have an unexpected reach. Who knows?
For example With January 3rd right around the corner, It would have been a good time to create something for such a significant date.
I think voice-over content would work as a great alternative to the main video that comes out every... three years (just a bit of sarcasm, but all in good fun!).

There is more data from those years (local board/post), so it could be compared with how things are today.
That way, we could determine if it's dead in terms of views—but then again, as long as you get even a single view, it's not truly dead.
