Happy holidays my people. Bitcointalk Community Awards don show back again. Last year we were nominated for four major categories but won just 1 and that was the Hero of Good category. Even though we campaign, the result no too favor us. This year I want make we carry at least four trophies come house.

The voting process go last for 60 days from today so make we put body there.
Note: Only people way get 10 merit in the last 120 days go fit vote. Also you go need to give reason why you dey nominate person.

I initially been no wan involve myself with anything forum politics but base on the names and the contestants wey I don see wey them nominate wey don really try for this bitcointalk community, bro I go come out come vote.
Just like wetin you don talk already, no be everybody go wan show their brother love as expected, but wetin those people no know is that oyibo man no go fit love you like your own brothers wey know the struggles and hustle wey we dy go through for we country, anyhow sha, I go cast my vote, but no be today.

You raised some important points here, and that shows you have the growth of the local board in mind, and also to make things happen in our own favour because the Naija board is fast increasing, to be honest. The series of activities is part of what we can write about as achievements made in recent times.

Back to the voting suggestions, I don't see it as a bad idea, because you made your points bold and clear that no one is forcing anybody to do so, but the only fear am having is about this particular thread itself, wouldn't it appear to others as if it was created with the intention of soliciting for vote, remember that we all can't reason the same way, even other board members visit here more often, though your points are clear, no one forces anyone to vote, they are just suggestions.

I’m not breaking any rules, all users are free to campaign for themselves or others. Also this happens in other boards. You can confirm on Bitlist. It’s not a self moderated thread and I don’t have the power to sway anybody’s decision.

You have a good point because this is a community award and everyone should be free to vote who they want and considers suitable for such positions. If we have to tell people who to vote for because they are Nigerians, it will defeat the purpose of the voting since lots of us have been impacted by people from other local boards. Hence, for the fun of the competition,  people should be free to vote who they consider fit for any of the categories.

One problem we dey normally get for this country na issue of Unity. Unnecessary division dey affect us for Real life outside the forum and that division still follow us come this forum. The reason we no fit develop for this country na because of Nepotism and na wetin we dey practically practice here be that. I believe we get reasonable population for this forum to win any contest if we unite ourselves. Unfortunately, we create divisions among ourselves instead of pushing for each other to win. Quite alright, the purpose of voting is to express free will and choose your prefer candidate based on your own assessment. We have high profile in our board that meets requirements and suit every category available but unfortunately all of them can not win at the same time. I read the previous campaign thread and I was disappointed reading through some comments and I forsee the same thing happening in this thread too.

The painful part is that this voting events are meant to bring us together but it's doing the opposite on this local board, creating more division. Some people might take it personally as if you don't vote for them otherwise, I will suggest we nominate people from the local board and push them to win in the voting thread. For any category we believe our people worth it, we can nominate between Charles-Tim, CryptoprenuerBrainboss, Mia Chloe, igebotz and others that are interested in the contest. I believe if we can reach consensus here, we can win it in the general board. We have TEN categories available, we can nominate our people for each of this category and vote. It's a win win for us without dragging each other.

You’re right, it’s a popularity contest. Some categories are going to be harder to win than others.
I still haven’t given up on the awards, I voted last year and it’s shocking some of ours didn’t get up to 10 votes despite it being mentioned here. Whereas I’ve seen how other communities push their people to the top and with the kind of traffic this local board has. I see no good reason why we can’t win more than one award.

It’s one thing to announce the awards, but when it starts to feel like people are being directed to vote for a particular person,  it starts to defeat the purpose.  Voting should be people’s genuine feelings with nothing else.
If a person really deserves the  award he/she want to go for,  then let their good work should be able to speak for themselves,  and there should be no extra push needed.  It just becomes biased when it starts to feel like there’s a purpose behind the push.  Omo trying to stay neutral would be the safest thing to do,  especially with how things went last year. There are no awards to be given to reopen old issues. Truth be told,  if na we see the same thing happening in another local board, we go probably start to complain about it too. So me actually understand where you’re coming from.

I like your expression as well as that of knowngunman and odohu. Unfortunately I've run so low on smerits I'm stressed too thin but I'll try not to forget these posts. The LB is divided which is why we can't bag a win. The problem is not that the bulk of members don't know which positions are which instead they just choose who they want to.

The view numbers on this thread is high and I'm hoping those reading do what's right for once. SatoPrincess once again what you did first hand isn't something I expected of you. Thank you for the update…. I didn’t see this notice before now. Last year I wasn’t able to vote my candidates because I wasn’t  eligible to, thank god say this year I mount Jagas.
You don announce those you wan support, yeah some of us like am some don’t, na campaign dem Dey call am no b force anybody wey wan vote the same people should join you if you get your own choice go ahead and vote those ones, but e for good if we for fit join forces vote our people.

Mia chelo am in support of what you just said, and to be frank  here this thread doesn't make any sense to me, because all I see here is someone who is just too ambitious, someone who is trying to farm trust and reputation by all means, even if takes him to bring down his own brothers or betray his own brothers. This thread could have come from someone who is more reasonable, and not from someone like him who have a lot of trashy traits. His just too unrealistic for my liking, and blinded with his own ambition. 
And as for the thread he quoted if that is what he claims he has done for this local board, then He has done absolutely nothing, His just a regular ass licker.

I guess Joy- maker will not only be smoking but he must be taking drug, the matter that has been solved he put it on his head like when he attacked me in the past with his low quality posts. If you have nothing good to post on this thread, you do not need to post than to be very harsh unnecessarily.

The Result from the previous BCA, we had winners with less than 70 votes, yet from the current local contest, we have more than 100 qualified users participating.

Looking at our numbers, we can win all categories if we have good candidates who fit in.

Campaigning for votes is allowed - mention those users and let the community vote for them, It's a popularity contest and nothing more.

I noticed SatoPrincess wasted so many voting power in her submission ( you're asked to vote 3 candidates in each category) we have more than 100 active members on the board. If anyone must vote, please use your full votes - 3 max.

I checked the main BCA thread for 2025 and I found out that anyone can campaign for it on a special thread. But what I don't know is if they can create separate threads to campaign for it. But since this was created on the local board I don't see anything wrong with that, the only wrong was that op added names of people of which he has removed. I saw the thread earlier when no one have made a comment but I chose not to be the first to talk about it.

Any user has the right to conduct campaigning in a separate thread, specially created for this purpose.

Make we all go vote for local board members way deserve am based on the deliberate, effort them done make within the short time  of the privilege position them done dey  hold for the local board and how them the use am to fairly benefit everybody without segregation or faction in the obligatory position them attain in the name of the local board. It gets rotated among certain users because they deserve the award giving to them. If they never did what will warrant members to vote for them, they wont receive the vote.

This year its not about bringing it home, but it will be all about voting for who deserve the award.
