I think your friend is deluding himself. Yes, nighttime feels different. Perhaps people are calmer and more optimistic when they're "near" sleep, but yes, everything seems more positive at night. But I'm sure that if you look at your friend's statistics, they are no different from the daily ones.
As for me, I have another prejudice - when football teams play during the day (and not in the evening as usual), the randomness of the game is much higher and the underdog has a better chance of taking points from the favorite. This is not true, gambling can favour anyone at anytime. There were time that I was favoured in the morning while there were time that I was favoured in the night time. I do not gamble during midnight, even if I do not sleep, I will prefer to walk around and do nothing so that my brain can relax.

Gambling has no specified period that you can be granted favour from it the winnings are random, night or day, you can not lay claim to one specific time as the most time where winning is bountiful. I have been gambling with no specific time of the day and I have been winning randomly in any of the periods.

Nights are calm periods and there are gamblers that prefer to gamble at that time to avoid distractions. But staying up all nights to gamble also has it negative impact on the health of the gambler, he can suffer from weight loss, dizziness and couples of other random health issues. I do not encourage midnight gambles for health reasons.

Actually, bet at night. It's not because of a better win ratio or anything like that. it's just that all the matches in the soccer leagues that I like are scheduled to start from midnight to early morning. So, in a week, whether I like it or not, as someone who loves soccer. I always make time at night for those matches. I don't think it has anything to do with being luckier or anything like that. but i don't know about other people's opinions. for me, it's the same. even in some local matches that take place during the day, sometimes I'm lucky and sometimes I'm not. So, it's the same.

Given that everyone here has different schedules, this is mostly about convenience when placing our bets, because what might mean playing at night for one person might simply mean playing in the morning or afternoon for another. It is just like studying at night when your environment is calm that is where you get your full concentration and be able to understand what ever you are doing, most persons finds it easy to cope at that time because you will be well relaxed and focus, the same thing might be happening to that your friend in gambling which makes him prefer night games than daytime games, since he win most of his game, and has observed it that way, he will keep enjoying his night games because that is where is luck lies.

Yeah, it's like peaceful that you're doing your own thing at night, it's like me when creating content, more peaceful and productive where noise doesn't exist. I am also someone who likes to gamble at midnight, mostly because everyone is asleep and there are no distractions. But my experience is very different from your friend’s. I do not win more at night. In fact, midnight gambling works worse for me.
When I start losing, instead of stopping I tend to keep playing until I run out of funds. For me, midnight does not increase winning chances; it increases chasing losses. This shows that time of day does not change odds, but mindset and discipline do like what's happening to me.
