Maybe some of you get messages like this, and are interested in the message of getting some bucks by selling your account, but that is a disgusting act- is it really worth it to sell your account, knowing that someone else can make more than what you got? You need to understand that these people can use the account to earn more money by joining the signature campaign, or want to apply for a loan and then exit this forum.

And for those of you who want to buy an account, just stop doing that because it's a waste of your energy. You might want to skip the effort of building an account from scratch, but it's just plain stupid to buy an account when you can build it yourself.

It's not good to buy account. I'd rather create an account that buying account. I have received a PM on telegram asking if I want to buy an account but I refuse. For selling account is that I don't know if there are lots of people who are willing to buy but my advice is that they shouldn't buy account because no matter what rank it is when your knowledge isn't good. Selling account will only make more people who will only spam since they can join signature campaigns rather than joining on discussions, sharing knowledge and crypto news.

No it’s not, buying of account is allowed but the community just encourage it, by the forum rules it’s allowed but they are highly discouraged.

This account was purchased or hack in 2023, and possibly again more recently. Please do not accept these types of accounts in your campaign or contest.

Account sales are technically allowed based on the rules, since it can be easily done off-forum anyway. But once they are found, they almost always get tagged by DT.

Buying an account is discouraged, and you can do it if you think that you can keep your account purchase secretly and noboby know about it. And if you believe that after the account purchase, you can use that account well enough so that no forum members can see changes in posting style, language change, and post quality change.

Your account is only at Full member rank that does not worth too much and people can join the forum, learn about the forum, Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, make their posts better and higher quality with time. Through contributions, they will receive merit and rank up to Full member, that is a much better way of owning a Full member account.

Yes, it wants to trick you, so be careful of this scam. This account has changed hands, which is a hint and the neutral tag @nutildah has thrown. The @greek_hephaestus account seems very suspicious to me.

Selling account is not prohibited on the forum, but actually allowed.. you might not see it as worth, but I can bet you if the price is right some users don't mind.. alot of accounts on this forum are operated by same users, so they won't mind selling one of them for the right amount of cash. I guess your idea might be they only want to buy the account so they can rank it up and use it for paid campaign, but nahh.. some people buys account for other things and they ain't good.. scammers buys reputable or high ranked account to make people trust them and scam or even take loans and run away. It's just something that has existed for long on the forum and can't be stopped.. I'll advice you, ignore any of those kind of PMs, so you don't let it get into your head too much..

Messages like that are indeed annoying, just report them to the admin and let them handle the issue. Especially if that account sends multiple messages, not just once. 
The practice of buying and selling accounts has long existed on the forum. I’m sure the people selling them or the accounts being offered belong to those who have actually been on the forum for quite some time and have been able to manage several accounts in the past. 
On the reputation board, you will find threads discussing accounts that have been bought or hacked. Such accounts are always risky.

Surely this buying and selling of account has been discussed on several occasions and I must say it is not a good act, and it shows a sign of laziness and not willing to be patient. But however there is no law that prohibits buying and selling of account in this forum. And there is no particular penalty given to them except they are noticed  or cought using such account for illegal activities or scam. You can read it from this thread by yahoo62278 thread "Discussion on buying/selling accounts/users actively seeking possible bought acc" Sometimes people don't even notice If an account is bought or not, except the person who bought the account is obviously a newbie in hero form A.K.A (impersonator), like a newbie buying a hero member account and going to the beginners and help section to ask what is Bitcoin? of course that can easily be noticed or if a reputable account is bought and the account start doing things that people are not familiar with. Before it can be noticed.

Why do you think people try to buy accounts? It's because building an account is not an easy thing anymore because of the merit system. Despite the fact that the system could somehow be abused, it has still played a great role in putting a full stop to account growth for undeserving users, because if you can't make good posts and get merits, you don't deserve to rank up and then have the opportunity to make money from this forum.

Before the introduction of merit system, account farming was easy because one could easily create multiple accounts and only make a few posts per day from each account to accumulate the activity points, and within a few months, the account would have a higher rank, but that isn't possible anymore because you will also need merits along with activity points to rank up now. 🙂

You are talking to a stranger, someone you have no information about, someone who you can never know their level of crypto knowledge, how will they even manage your account without spamming the forum? They are probably from Bangladesh or India.

Sorry if anyone found this annoying, I mentioned these countries because I have got PMs from such people before, until I talked some senses into them, with full frank, their way of writing feels more like people from India part and Bangladesh too.

If I have to sell my account to anyone it would be someone who have the same level of crypto understanding like myself or even more better than I am, fortunately the forum isn't fully supporting the habit, it takes nothing to build your account from the beginning.

"Avoid selling your account for just a few bucks" - If someone is offering a couple of bucks for your account, that doesn't mean other accounts are offering the same amount. Owners of high-ranking accounts probably won't want to sell for that amount.

You could have sent this screenshot to the forum administration (report to admin) instead of attaching it to a public message, right? That would have solved your private message spam problem (or simply added this user to your ignore list).

From a financial perspective (saving time and effort), buying an account probably isn't entirely foolish. But at the very least, it's completely uninteresting in terms of engaging personal progress through rank advancement.

If someone can't develop their account and is rushing to buy another, one with a higher rank, what guarantee is there that they'll be able to match the previous account owner's posting? However, sending such offers in PMs while already having a tag indicating they're not the owner is quite foolish. They don't like the current tag and want a cleaner account, one without any evidence of their sale. Again, this is very foolish, since the OP put everything up for discussion, and this should be the case for everyone who receives such offers. At the very least, reporting this to the moderators and leaving your own tag about the offer will cool the ardor of such "buyers," as they can expect future exposure with an account they've already purchased. But for this foolish behavior, I'll also leave my tag.

Getting into campaigns now is much harder, with requirements like merit and trust.

Such a poor choice of words doesn't really match what the OP wants to say - what if someone offered $10 000 or more for a single account? Given that some members experience this forum as their workplace, I think that some would be happy to accept such money even if they are in a sig campaign.

Accounts have always been sold and will continue to be so in the future, as long as there is demand, there will be supply. PM should be reported and the buyer should be red tagged.

His account is a full member account that's almost on similar merit as yours. What's then the essence of trying to buy account from another user when you already have an account that has stayed long on the forum upto the point of already being involved in a signature campaign?

Buying of account on the forum is prohibited and other than that, what's so deficult in growing your account from scratch rather than waiting lazily for another person to build his account and then you're hoping to just give him money in exchange for it? Either for a few bucks or not, buying and selling of account should not be encouraged because it discourage productivity and overall effort that other areas putting into growing their account on the forum on a natural bases.

This guy has lost more now, so to what gain eventually? His account has been tagged with 2 extra red tags, even as it was tagged neutral before now by @nutildah. The neutral tag must have meant that it was not so obvious or provable that it committed that offence. He was just being suspected. But this one has sealed it, it's an undeniable proof. Nice one, OP!
