Solar or wind power maybe? There is no such thing as free electricity though, you either pay on one go or pay every month for electricity bill, if anyone is mining for free and you can't see any panels or turbine then they are mining illegally, do not join them for their days will be outnumbered.

You either stealing electricity or you have panels over your roof or someone somewhere is paying your electricity bill, rule out the idea of free electricity, they don't exists.

There are electricity that's cheaper usually in less developed countries. However, that comes with its own set of problems and logistical issues usually. So, unless you are someone who owns a large company and wants to have a mining operation overseas, and a butt load of money to invest its probably out of reach for you.

Mining requires alot of electricity on a steadily basis this is why we have seen cases of electricity thefts just to mind bitcoin, recently I read about an old employee that hard a wired computer in an old abounded garage, he use the company electricity to mine bitcoin for a long time before he was eventually caught when there was some work on the basement.

There is no bypass to electricity for mining you have to either pay for it or generate your own electricity via solar and other clean energy sources.

Those who are "stealing" electricity get caught and put behind the bars. If you are not paying for it, someone else would be and that is stealing. You can look for cheap electricity but you still have to pay some decent amount every month.

Dont be on the mindset of getting everything for free and then mining and making money as well. The serious players in this game have their own setups with big number of ASICs running on cheap electricity with cooling. Otherwise you cannot have any skin in the game.

it is crazy how common illegal connections are in some regions just to keep some old s9 miners humming along, i have heard stories about people tapping into street lights or abandoned factories but that sounds like a great way to start a fire or get a visit from the cops, to be honest the quota system sounds like a fair way to do it even if it limits how many rigs you can run at once, do you think the 9 cent rate is still profitable for you with the current difficulty or do you just stick to the 1000 kilowatt limit, xd it is a tough game when you are competing with big farms that have their own power plants

A 9-cent tariff would be unprofitable for mining, so it doesn't even make sense. If I consume 10,000 kilowatts per month in my home, the energy company will come and inspect me. From 2015 to 2021, energy companies didn't pay attention to such electricity consumption in private homes, and there were no limits on electricity consumption.

You can't get electricity for free however if you are from a place where you people are blessed with crude oil maybe the company that is mining the oil can decide to give you guys free electricity, for example where I'm from we have a lot of crude oil in my town and Total E&P is in charge of the crude oil there so they give us light for free, they convert gas to electricity and we have a lot of gas also in my town, so we have steady powers supply for free.
People that are mining crypto in my town are using electricity for free and it's more easy over here because of the free electricity.

I don't know how to mine using free electricity (legally), but I think mining using solar panels is quite economical or cheaper than using regular electricity. In my country, solar panel users don't have strict regulations, but they still need to ask for permission to do so. Maybe, the initial cost is quite high for installing our own solar panels, but in the later stages we can enjoy long-term benefits compared to using electricity from the government. I still don't really understand the costs, but I have seen many people review that solar panels are much more economical, and I often see it on YouTube. I have also seen miners who use them.

I don't really understand how this works? Household power grids are designed for a certain load, and if people start mining in their homes or apartments, there will be a lot of breakdowns and other problems. If a company has free electricity, they can mine independently.

OP you can't get free electricity you have to pay for it except those that there government offer them free electricity which I don't think any government those that right now, if you are really interested in mining and you don't have the finance to do it you can invite your friends to join you on the mining journey and they will support you financially than for you to be looking for free electricity because you won't get it anywhere.

It's possible in my country to mine with free electricity. One of the easiest ways is to relocate in areas where electricity is free. For example, if you live in a high mountain region in Georgia, then electricity is free and lots of local people mine cryptocurrencies. As a bonus, it's always cold in these areas and you don't have to worry about cooling your miners.
Another way is to be working in a church and mine here but it's disgusting to do and if you are found out, you'll be arrested. Many people have done this and some are probably still doing it successfully, but it's disgusting.
You can also get cheap (not free) electricity in a place where BitFury mines locally but I don't know well how it that happens, you need to sign some kind of contract.

As far as I know, they don't have electricity counters, so any family can use as much electricity as they want. For example, in 2019 one region used so much electricity that their consumption was higher of 19 other regions. We all know it's happening in this region for years but in 2019 power station exploded because it couldn't handle such a big demand and then the media wrote tons of articles about it, so the government had to do something and they made the people of this region to swear in front of a cross and that's how this situation ended up. Of course, no one follows their swear and they still mine. It's protected by the government too, because some government members mine in these regions via their friends and offer protection to local people, too. It's a dirty business.
