I partly agree.

I do think there is too much spam there. But there are some good discussions in the ANN of most casinos. Basically community support, which is by no mean spam.

I think there are too much campaigns forcing users to post there, which is unnecessary and incentives spam (imo). But it also incentives community support, which is good.

I partly agree as well. I don't know if people think that discussions on other gambling forums are at the level of statistics professors. There are high-level discussions alongside opinions from degenerate gamblers trying to justify strategies such as the martingale with the most bizarre arguments.

Many are worrying on current high price of bitcoin to invest with. But in my opinion, we need to console ourselves with the future prices like $1M or $10M. When all 21 million supply to be mined out only after 100+ years, I am sure that the people who are accumulating right now are still in early phase only. If bitcoin is costing ~100k for early adopters, how much it would cost for late adopters? So, go for DCA freely coz it is still cheaper.

Even in bitcoin discussion and economics there was a time used to be complete spam, people got no idea of wehat they were talking about and just simply rephrase what people told earlier and finish their quota which I guess changed, there are some real discussions happening yet we can see merit source or people in general skip or put that board on ignore.

The ignore button might solve some problems like keeping certain users off your radial and solve a problem on one path being yours but, it doesn’t help the report to moderator function very well neither does it help the forum real good since, the users can still spam and be cool while, the moderators aren’t prompt to act in terms of delete and temp bans where necessary.

Yes of course there are some worthwhile topics(not very many), but browse through the section and look at how many similar topics there are with almost the exact same discussion happening in them. You can find 10 threads on addiction in the 1st 3 pages I bet. Noone uses the search feature or cares to, they just make a new topic and worry about their weekly quota.

The rule(which i use like a dumbass as well) of must make x amount of posts in the gambling section was great at 1st and seemed to be serving its purpose, but now it's just making users make unnecessary posts in the section. I lowered my requirement to 4 posts in the gambling section but maybe it needs changed to 2? or even 0? Just let people post where they feel comfortable and maybe the problem lessens.

I need to make 5 posts per week over there and I always have trouble with that requirement, not because I don't like talking about football or gambling, but because there is so much spam that it's hard to have a conversation. You find a topic to discuss about and there are already 15 pages of spam, how do I even start to post there? I literally spend 10x the time thinking about a good post to make compared to other boards I rather post on (i.e Local boards are so easy because of the smaller and controlled community with pretty much zero spam).

I think if all campaign managers just start actively marking bad posts as spam, things could change and the good users would be able to use the board for real. Maybe that's too much work? Or maybe managers just accept what I would call spam as an okayish post. If someone is just repeating stuff on the 15th page of a topic, I would just not pay anything for that.

I only use the ignore button for annoying users, people that don't need to have their posts deleted but I have no interest in reading them.

I have a rule usually where i don't count posts in megathreads and my definition of a megathread is posts after page 10 don't count, but I think of you get too critical we will see just more and more bs threads opened up on the same topic. We will have 100 addict threads, 100 threads of this and that, 100 thread of junk.

Nothing any of us do as managers will be perfect, but I would love to hear ideas on how to reduce spam without creating a new problem.

A spammer will not be ignored by every single user, so that they can keep spamming without getting noticed or any of their posts getting reported to moderators. If I ignore someone because I don't want to see or read their posts, someone else will read them, and before they are put on ignore by that other person, the post they have just read will surely be reported to the moderators. So, I don't think that the ignore button allows spammer to have a good time spamming, it only deprives them of good and appreciative readers.

Ok, now people are ''forced'' tp spam in Gambling board. If this requirement to make x number of posts would be removed, spam simply will move to other boards - Bitcoin Discussion, Trading, Economics - places where it's easy to make generic shitposts without much knowledge. Or they simply will continue to post in Gambling board because these topics about addiction is just easy money.

And even if you make good post there, most likely that nobody won't read and it will burried in spam. Self-moderated topics looks like only thing that can help - spammers usually avoid it.

My unpopular opinion - The is repeating cycles or is in a circular motion.

To buttress with a few examples; we have a period where getting merit becomes difficult or seem slow for people then latter it goes back to normal, we have periods where dramas are too much, people dragging themselves and after some time it goes back to normal, it has always been like this, the forum repeating same thing but it seem like it changes but no nothing has changed, the spamming might shift from a board to another but still remains.

There's quite a decent amount of spam in the gambling board, but I believe it's not as bad as it used to be. The megathreads are to be avoided in general (not always but more often than not), so the gambling section isn't an exception; I tend to avoid anything over 10 to 15 pages long, unless there's an actual discussion on-going. At least, I'm seeing a lot less AI usage than it used to be.

Some agree, others argue, but there's much less spam compared to pre-merit levels. It's an "issue" that can't be eradicated, and that's totally normal, but some sections had way more spam than currently.

There is far less spam on the forum now as there was many years ago. I used to find the most spam in Altcoin Discussion, it was full of very short, one liner shit posts and incoherent English. Even that area of the forum is much higher quality than it used to be now.

I think there are a lot more active reporters now so most really low quality stuff gets reported and deleted pretty quickly.

Premier League Discussion, La Liga Discussion, so on and so forth are full of spam? Yes, we can find spam on several pages, but i think the interaction in those threads changes, each week has its own discussion based on the performances of the teams on how they concluded the fixtures.

I'm asking for clarity, do you consider mega threads like the above to be truly low valued, considering there is always new events to discuss each week for a whole 35-38 league matches?

Although I have not made any discussion based on what I'm about to suggest because I don't really know if the forum will agree to it.

My unpopular opinion - is that forum users should be able to know if their profile has been viewed. I have checked many anonymous websites and I have created account on them but if my profile have been viewed I will know by the numbers of the viewers not who viewed my profile. If the forum programers have agreed to it, they should do it the way that only the owner of the account will know if his profile views increase. Reason for this suggestion is because people visits different profiles for many reasons, some to check trust and post histories.
