So this holidays I came up with an idea to create a website for anonymous talks on the forum sometimes people like to create alts to say things they may be too scared to say with their accounts lol and it happens like a lot. Well it's been really long since I played around with some codes and honestly I'm really rusty in both CSS and html plus I could barely do some external java scripting anyways I still got it close to where I wanted.

Well the site is created for this forum mainly for gossips and things people may not like to say with their main account. It saves non of your data except a little cache for you to be able to update your posts. Really light weight though there are a few things that need fixing and I'll be happy to get help plus I'll try to fix them in my free time.

Well the site is created for this forum mainly for gossips and things people may not like to say with their main account.

Open a new account on Tor, always login on Tor, let the alt be relevant like your main account with good posts and talk what you want to talk. All on this forum.

Maybe some people might be active on the forum but I do not see a reason to be on such forum because this forum provide all the anonymity that I need but it requires me to make some necessary steps to be anonymous.

Am external websites for ghost statements or expressing oneself about the forum in my opinion will seem like the forum restriction some level of freedom of speech but to me I may not need it but those who like to create alt to say thing they are afraid to say will enjoy it but what is more fun than saying everything with your full chest without fear of any kind? I think that fear of not being able to say things with ones main account only shows that they are not pure enough but I've never seen where one gets banned or anything just for saying their mind I think their are even people like that with more freedom,  but the website is still cool, good you still have the coding in you.

Your idea is good, but you would have used the idea to create another website that will mean well to the society or not gossip or off discussion that related to bitcointalk forum...

Bitcointalk discussion is not hidden discussion place, or a secret discussion arena, it's an open floor for every discussion that mean well for development of Bitcoin and it's technical issues...

Designing another website for private discussion that relates with bitcointalk is not real ideal from my perspective...because the purpose of bitcointalk is to learn from others on what you're not familiar with.

This forum has been one of the social places that I noticed does not censor what people are posting. What you will post on most social media that will be deleted are left alone on this forum including well structured abuses.

Rule 8 and 10 are what that are not acceptable and which is better.

8.No threats to inflict bodily harm, death threats.

10. No embedded NSFW images anywhere. NSFW content must be marked accordingly.

Aside mixers, this forum is not that censored except deleting posts that are publicly wrong.

If a forum is created for mixers or something, that could be a good idea as this forum does not allow mixers. But for other things, this forum is a perfect fit.

No matter the anonymity of any site, except you want to create your own website or rather platform that you want people to join, I don't see any reason why any discussion should be taken out of the forum just because you want to be anonymous. This forum is already anonymous even though Theymos can access our IPs but inasmuch as he isn't revealing anyone's IP address then I see no need for more anonymity. Alts are not forbidden, if you use it appropriately. However, the main reason for having an alt account is to hide behind your main account when you want to say things that you wouldn't like to come from your main account especially if you are an established member.

Edit: I went to sleep about 6 hrs ago, site was offline then, I thought it should be momentary downtime but it's still not up!?

You have come up with an idea, but I would rather prefer to go with a script or something which will be used directly inside this forum and not a separate one where you can be allowed to post anything anonymously without using your real account. An example of this is what we have on WhatsApp and meta, where you can have some private discussion publicly about an ongoing debate, but your real name won't be shown but just anonymous, that will serve the same purpose you created the website for better.

Yeah, I think a shoutbox would work better for this.  It would be awesome if it was part of bitcointalk.  But I get why that probably wont happen; it would get spammed to hell super fast.  So, yeah, probably not gonna happen.

The idea of anonymity is wonderful, but unfortunately I find it almost useless to use it in this way. There is no point in writing a post on an alternative forum, you lose the sense of community even if the post could be full of useful information or not. I agree with those who say that it is better to use an alt account rather than an alternative forum.
Why don't you suggest to theymos that they add an anonymous mode directly to this forum? I think it would be more useful.

In understand that part and I must say, it’s a lot of effort @Mia Chloe and sadly, it’s one that would hardly be used or perhaps users might test it out for a time and have it fade away as users on the forum like to have all their discussions here and many at times, the alts created to used to spark some wild outrage without ties is a thing of the forum with its effect being on-forum. Still, your efforts is commendable for thinking outside the box and trying to do one for the community.

The site looks clean and fast, it's good actually but i don't think people will use it for anonymous discussion. Also username issue just like mentioned below.

Probably @Mia Chloe was thinking of what could be done to take away the heat and dramatic shades that we usually get in forum, at least to reduce it by having it more engaging somewhere else anonymous. But we can't deny it that those dramas and shades are part of what makes the forum interesting every time if the year at one point to another. Maybe it's no bad an idea what the OP proposed but just how long before forum users get bored over it to the forum itself.

The idea of ​​posting anonymously isn't so much about censorship problem, but about the risk of ruining your reputation.
If users don't like what you write, rather than censoring your message, they'll likely red-flag it. And then it becomes a mess having to defend yourself and explain your reasons.

Having an external site, however, I think is a bad idea, both for the reasons you've already mentioned, such as the loss of the sense of community, and because almost no one would read that external critic, which would then be lost.

So you replace the simple way the forum works and with theymos knowing "new guy's" IP with you knowing that IP.
So unless I'm missing something, this is not a real improvement imho, sorry.

I didn't see the implementation, it seems to be down. But this may also open the door for abuses which, afaik, are usually stopped by blocking IPs.


Edit: now the URL has opened a "domain suspended" page. I guess that somebody wanted to do more than just some casual anonymous talk...

I took it offline but I'm bringing in back online in a jiffy. I'm thinking on make it more like a shout out area but I have to fix a lot of code lines thanks a lot for your offer if I encounter any issues I'll contact you.

Yeah you get the point. It was quite fun for me putting this together because it's been a couple years since I wrote some simple codes .

My initial idea was something very similar to what re seldom see where some members here make posts as anonymous users. I'm not saying the forum ain't anonymous but the fun of it was talking with no one knowing who was the username behind it.

That'll do I'll need to make some updates for this probably make the landing page give you a way to ID yourself not sure yet though.
