Hi Collectibles community,

I am building an archive dedicated to **Solid Gold Physical Bitcoins**.

**Why I made this:**
I recently noticed on-chain data showing a solid gold coin being peeled and swept to an exchange. **This is a tragedy.** It destroys the numismatic value of these 2014 historical artifacts just for the spot price of BTC.

**My request:**
1. **Holders:** Please check the archive before you decide to peel. Don't destroy history.
2. **Experts:** If you have more details or missing specs about these gold coins, please email `info@goldphysicalbitcoin.com` to help me improve the archive.

**Preview Images:**

Imgur images won't display on the forum. You will have to upload your images to TALKimg (https://www.talkimg.com/).
Those will become visible on Bitcointalk, and someone can quote them for you.

There are About 3000 gold physical bitcoins ever created in total to my estimations. Unfortunately, most likely 99% of Gold Physical bitcoins if loaded will be pealed because they often have a large sum of bitcoin loaded onto them. It becomes risky to possess such large amounts of money concentrated on 1 single coin. The ones that will stay intact will be the buyer fundable coins which never got loaded.

According to my information, only 100 physical coins made of pure gold were issued in 2014, and no similar issuances have been found since. It seems that no other projects have also been found to have physical coins made of 1 ounce of pure gold. After all, 1 ounce of gold was worth more than 2 Bitcoins back then, so it is hard to understand how it could be used to mint physical coins with a face value of 1 BTC.

Heartbreakingly, just last month, on-chain data showed that 1 BTC from a gold coin address was transferred to an exchange. The wallet address was “17Paj2YodiEzRxyNEAh2dc3GRBvGxV47v4”. It was likely transferred by an unsuspecting holder, completely ignoring its intrinsic historical and collectible value. Fortunately, I detected that 92 coins still retained the 1 BTC transferred in 2014.

If you are talking about gold physical bitcoins only from the year 2014 then your estimates are likely close but there has been a lot of makers since who have created gold coins. Denarium made approximately 500 gold physical Bitcoin coins/bars across 5 different series. But they started around 2015 and stopped minting in 2020

Crazy to think they went through all that trouble making those gold Chinese Businessman coins, all with separate dies only to leave the private key exposed via the QR code. A coin you literally can't show to anyone while still loaded.
