The best place where influencers can get the best of you is Twitter, over 90% of all the crypto content on Twitter are bad for beginners, they are full of misleading information, so don't go and do something stupid and start blaming Twitter for it, users on that platform are looking for users to turn into Exit Liquidity. I feel your pain, with the way you are talking it shows that an advise from twitter has made you do something wrong that you can not forget, twitter is the one place that you should never believe everything they are saying about crypto, i will not blame them because twitter is a place where people are looking for followers and engagement that will make them earn money, they are doing anything to make money that is why i will not blame them for lying to people who want to know about crypto and other things.
