I like lava lamps they make funky shapes are they all based on a lightbulb (Obsolete One RIP Edison Bulb) and heated plastic or are there other types of lava lamps available?

 these days they've came out with those cheap fake lava lamps that are like plastic pieces or whatever spinning around and round that made similar designs as the real deal old school lamps.
I wonder if I'm the only one who finds these lamps in particular extremely annoying and a total waste of money?
