There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. Hybrid server-assisted clients like Electrum get a lot of their network information from centralized servers, but they also check the server's results using blockchain header data. This is perhaps somewhat more secure than either server-assisted clients or header-only clients.

Are you a hitchhiker?

I recommend asking me for a signature from my GPG key before doing a trade. I will NEVER deny such a request.

Is there a nice restaurant we can dine at around that rainbow nebula straight ahead to discuss your question?

How many questions does it take to get to the center of a rainbow-nebula-pop?
Would you believe over 9000?

Did you consider that maybe that other question thread may pass this one by, given that the hare gave this tortoise a head start?

If BadBear shits in the Daisy's family sedan, would they place an ad on this forum seeking a new driver?

The paining (sic!) is done with the QPainter class inside the paintEvent() method.
