However, today, December 31st, with almost nothing in my pocket, no new clothes, due to other life circumstances, for a second the thought crossed my mind: risk what little I had on bets with the hope of having something for today. But I thought about it and pushed the idea out of my head.

If you’ve been betting without risking too much that you cannot afford to lose, the end of year closing gains will not really matter to you. Whether you’re ending in a loss or win, the feeling will not really make a huge difference. In the case a win makes a huge difference is when you win a huge price that even yourself knew that you over risked the little you have and your chances was very small to win it, if not, the feeling won’t make much of a difference.

Most gamblers are going to end the year in a loss because the casinos always have an edge over them. The feelings of gamblers will be divided now checking their end of the year closing balance in gambling. For those that risked little, they will still maintain natural feelings/emotions but for those that have risked too much, they will feel bad not ending the year in profit. Base on that, I am gambling for fun. I don’t really pay attention to the records of my losses and my winnings, so it’s hard for me to say whether I am at a loss or ending the year with profits. But the way I am imagining things, it seems like a loss. I don’t think I am in profit, but I believe I don’t lose that much because, as I was losing, I was also winning sometimes. Your expectations are very harmful, you should lower your expectations from gambling and stop thinking of gambling as a way to make money.

Just put me in this category, it was boring as fuck. I can't agree to making profit while I didn't, it's was just all over the place, or you don't know that losses is usually all over the place? Even when you think you are getting it, you are still going to lose the next day you repeat back, and so it's boring to win today and lose it all the next time you go again. I am ending the year with mostly losses and not with profits. But is that even bad for me, there's a bit of disappointment but I have to embrace that. If there is little money left, it is better to use it for consumptive things to enjoy on New Year's Eve, rather than forcing yourself to bet, what is there is even lost, it is not a good decision, let's enjoy this night with my family too, no gambling on Sunday nights and New Year's holidays, full time with family feels more beautiful than gambling, especially when you only have a little money.

Remember don't rely on gambling just because it's trying your luck to make some extra money so you can spend more.

You should definitely track your gambling expenses and behavior to some extent, but I wouldnt place much weight on whether or not you made a profit or loss for that year; its supposed to be fun, not a business venture.

Many of the players in this industry will either be losing money or in the red or both -they may not tell you that they are losing, but they still will not be winning.  Betting is not considered a valid financial plan when you are struggling or in a difficult financial situation.  Congrats for keeping your sanity during these times, but dont think too much about it - you just made a conscious decision to avoid making a poor choice and to keep your situation from getting any worse.

In my case, I'll end the year with a slight loss, but since it's not a big deal, I'm not worried because I bet on sports in moderation and with small amounts of money, so even when I lose a bet, it won't harm me in the real world. I don't track my gambling losses but I already accepted it since my goal is to have a relaxation from playing those. There's something at the back of my head that regret losing some but I realized it's part of what I did so it's fine.

f you're constantly focused on how to profit from gambling, you’ll always have those kinds of doubts. But if your goal isn't just entertainment
