News: Due to a wallet-migration bug, you should not upgrade Bitcoin Core. But if you already did, there's no need to downgrade.

[ANN] WATTx: Ultra-Fast PoS Settlement Chain with On-Chain Atomic Swap DEX

 - Pre-Launch Discord Community: https://discord.gg/7dbbFPBJwn

Introduction

Hello Bitcointalk community!

We're thrilled to introduce WATTx, a high-performance Proof-of-Stake blockchain forked from QTUM, engineered for near-instant settlements, cross-chain atomic swaps, and decentralized ecosystem incentives.

With 1-second block times, WATTx delivers exceptional speed and scalability while preserving the security of a UTXO-based model with full EVM compatibility. WATTx serves as the native payment and gas token, but its primary role is as a universal settlement chain for trustless cross-chain atomic swaps across any UTXO or EVM-compatible blockchain. Powering this vision is WATTxChange.app – a fully on-chain atomic swap DEX where users can create buy/sell orders for any cryptocurrency via orderbook smart contracts. Trades settle directly on the WATTx blockchain using atomic swap protocols (HTLC-based), eliminating bridges, wrappers, custodians, or counterparty risk. We're in pre-launch and building our community. Join our Discord today to get involved early, share feedback, and stay updated on testnet and mainnet progress!Key Blockchain Specifications

Consensus: Custom PoS mechanism (QTUM fork) optimized for 1-second block times, enabling near-real-time confirmations suitable for payments, trading, and high-frequency dApps.
Block Reward: 0.08333333 WATTx per block (paid to validators/stakers).
Halvings: Bitcoin-style halvings every 126,000,000 blocks, halving the block reward to create predictable scarcity and deflationary pressure over time.
Supply Model: Uncapped initial issuance with halving schedule (similar to Ethereum's early model but with Bitcoin-like reductions).

Core Use Cases & Ecosystem Design

Universal Cross-Chain Settlement: WATTx acts as the neutral settlement layer for atomic swaps between any UTXO chain (e.g., BTC, LTC, DOGE) or EVM chain (e.g., ETH, BNB, Polygon). Users lock funds on their native chain and claim on the counterparty chain via on-chain proofs – all coordinated and finalized on WATTx for speed and low cost.
WATTxChange.app DEX: Fully decentralized orderbook with on-chain matching and atomic execution. List and trade any coin without permission – true open liquidity for the entire crypto ecosystem.
Node Hosting Incentives: WATTx enables smaller blockchains to achieve better decentralization by paying users in WATTx to run their nodes. Partner chains integrate a simple reward mechanism where node operators receive both the native chain's rewards and additional WATTx payments per block. This bootstraps security for emerging projects while increasing WATTx utility and distribution.
Broader Utility:Exchange WATTx for OCTA to access decentralized hardware rentals on OCTA.space.
Pay for subscriptions to WATTx.ai – our upcoming LLM and AI services tailored for Web3.

WATTx creates a flywheel: more chains listing on the DEX → deeper liquidity → more node hosting demand → higher WATTx usage and staking.

Early RoadmapQ1-Q2 2026: Public testnet with basic atomic swaps and DEX prototype.
Mid-2026: Mainnet launch and initial cross-chain integrations.
Ongoing: Node incentive programs and ecosystem expansions.

We welcome technical feedback, potential partners (especially smaller chains looking for decentralization boosts), and enthusiastic community members. Let's build the most interoperable and useful settlement layer in crypto!

What do you think – does the world need a fast, neutral atomic swap settlement chain?

If WATTx is coordinating swaps between BTC/LTC/DOGE and EVM chains, the big question is, how are you verifying what happened on those other chains without introducing a trusted relayer?

"On-chain proofs" is doing a lot of work there, so are you actually running light-client verification or SPV-type proofs on WATTx for UTXO chains and something equivalent for EVM chains, or is it more like "watchers report it"? (Both of these are valid designs, just that they have very different trust assumptions).

I can explain this at a later time.
