~You think people who take drugs do not know that is bad for them? Of course they do, and people who drink booze don't know that hurts their liver? Of course they do, and yet they all do it, gambling is similar in that regard where people know that's bad but they still do it. I guess if they can't stop themselves then there is nothing that we can say or do which can make them stop gambling.
It's up to them, of course, whether to gamble responsibly or not, even the best specialists in the world wouldn't be able to help them if there's no desire on the other side. I intentionally didn't say "stop" because stopping gambling entirely is not necessary, you just have to do it responsibly, in moderate way, always keeping in mind that other people around you, your close ones, shouldn't suffer from your gambling.
Exactly, it's the person that will really need the initiative to stop or not. Even if he goes to the best doctors in the world, if he or she doesn't want to change for the best then we can't do anything about it. That's why we always says that the gambler should recognized that they have issues before help arrives.
Personally, for this year, I started just slow on my gambling and I think it's better this way for me. But I'm not saying that there will be days that I won't gamble, but I will just try to minimized and not gamble as much money as I can specially if I'm on a losing streak.
