It is good to want to win that is what we all want but as both of you have rightly said being too optimistic is not recommended in gambling, this is because most times we lose so it's better not to have high expectations. My strategy regarding winnings and loses is ' hope to win but expect loses' so after a game my mind is already prepared to accept a win or a lose, I've learnt not to make a big deal out of loses. I agree because usually gambling algorithms are usually 1:9, sometimes if you have a good luck then it is a different calculation. I would say that no matter how much money you invest in gambling, it will not hurt if it leaves your life. Because if you invest a large amount to win a big bet, and if you lose, you will have to pay a very large fee. I think the only reason for using huge amount of money should be to reduce some kind of risk there by reducing the number of game selection and also to maximize the potential win sometimes but it is not advisable to use money we can not afford to lose to gamble because winning is not guarantee. Not everyone who stake with huge amount can afford to lose it because I realize some people like taking unnecessary risk and sometimes it can be beneficial but I don't think it is worth it in gambling because the chance of winning is always very minimal.
