If you aren't sure which crypto to invest then you should just buy Bitcoin. As many people know that bitcoin is the father of all crypto so there's no need to put a deep explanation as to why you should invest in bitcoin. If you still want to diversify your portfolio then the only thing I can say is that you should choose the crypto to invest within the top 100 but if unsure then within the top 10 crypto in the market. In the end, it still entirely up to you on what crypto you want o invest to.

That's the most simplest straight forward answer I can give. Also if you are new to Crypto (assuming you are), then just stick to BTC. No point in investing at some random altcoins. They are highly volatile and can have greater risks than BTC. If not managed properly, you'll end up on the street. I'm being serious not sarcastic.

As for "WHY Bitcoin"? Well, the reason is most obvious. I don't think I need to go into the details. If crypto were an universe than Bitcoin would be the center of it.

If you are asking the question like this, there is no other option for you but Bitcoin in the first place.  I would in fact not even touch Altcoins unless you wanted to play lottery.  If you go over at Coin Market Cap and set the Price pairs in Bitcoin instead of Dollars, no matter which Altcoin you will choose you will see that Bitcoin is always the winner in the long term.

It may be tempting to purchase a Cryptocurrency that has a low price because 'it has room to grow' compared to Bitcoin but there are a lot more factors to consider.  Set up a secure Wallet, buy Bitcoin, keep buying Bitcoin, learn more about how it works and how other Cryptocurrencies work and if you are still tempted to enter the Altcoins lottery, at least do it after you built a decent baggage of knowledge.

If you want to invest, then just go for bitcoin and have peace of mind. I will tell you to avoid all this shitcoins in the market right now, just invest in bitcoin, and you have nothing to worry about. If you can properly hold and protect your wallet from hack, or you losing your seed phrase, then you have no problem.

Most people you see investing in all this shitcoins are the set of people that don’t have proper knowledge about crypto, and they are just looking for quick money, they looking for a coin which they can invest in, then after few days or weeks it will have multiplied their money so many times, but they don’t even think about the risk involved in it, they don’t know they can easily lose money, they don’t know those shitcoins are pumped base on hype, and immediately the hype goes down, they are always crashing without bouncing back.

But when you Invest in bitcoin, you have to be prepared to hold for long, because bitcoin price won’t just multiply your money within few days, bitcoin price will always grow gradually, and most people are not always patient.

I think for one, Bitcoin should be the first one to be recommended for beginners. It's user's friendly and you can do DCA with it and you will be ok in the long run. And it's obvious that it's where most of us are putting our money with.

Specially right now that we are somewhat in the bear market already, it's that perfect opportunity to start right now and do invest and keep stacking sats for this version of the cycle. I know that there could be some altcoins that might be good. But if you look at this current cycle, not much movement specially with Ethereum as it supposed to lead the altcoin market but it didn't reach any new all time high.

To safe yourself from different types of stress, and future problems that could make your investment in crypto go to zero, no matter how powerful the shitcoin creator was, just go for Bitcoin.
Why? I believe the story of what happened to the shitcoin created by President Trump last year, where a lot of investment make lose, is enough to serve as a lesson that Bitcoin is the only crypto that will never go to zero.

Just invest in Bitcoin, it's the safest, atleast 50% or more of your portfolio invest it in Bitcoin so that you have a solid foundation and your funds are not just gonna plummet to the ground that easily, since it is not going to drop a huge amount compared to other altcoins or tokens in the market. Anyway, just buy the blue chip tokens in the market, anything that you believed or you think that in 5 years or more market price is going to be 3x or even more. It could also be the top 20-100 coins since its the sweet sport if you want to make a huge money in crypto, this is where you could make huge money with huge risk since tokens here are usually the one that become in the top 10 so x10 is going to be easy on those token if you are just lucky. Then invest only around 1-5% just excess money on some meme tokens what so ever.

Other than that just put it on real estate, gold, stock, and other investments, diversifying is still top tier and putting everything in crypto investment is just not ideal or smart for investors, especially on bear market you dont really know if market is going to bounce back, plus make sure that you have the financial foundation the basics, like savings, emergency funds etc. before even starting to invest on crypto.
