Avalanche: Undervalued?

Avalanche is a smart contracts blockchain with blazing-fast confirmation times and dirt-cheap fees. It has a unique 3-tier network architecture, allowing it to achieve scalability without compromising security/reliability/decentralization. It's much more decentralized than Solana and BSC, yet it's sitting in the "double digits". Not to mention, the supply is finite. Even more finite than Ethereum or any other coin of the same kind. In my eyes, Avalanche (AVAX) is undervalued. But I could be wrong.

As long as it's more decentralized, I think Avalanche (AVAX) has the potential to grow in the future. It's just a matter of waiting until those hype projects run into a lot of trouble, we know that the crypto ecosystem isn't entirely filled with conservative fundamentalists, therefore, we can't expect anything for now.

That's if we talk about the technology behind it, from an economic perspective, Avalanche (AVAX) also has good potential.

The problem isn't about how scalable and fast it is, we all know avalanche is fast but other blockchain like solana is fast too that average joe don't really notice the difference.
On top of that here's brief comparison of the defillama data between 3 chains : ethereum, solana, and avalanche.



It's obvious that avalanche is falling behind with chain rev of $8000 in 24h compared to other and it's falling behind on other things too such as dex volume and so on.

Regardless of how good the tech is, a blockchain needs to have utility that will give value to the native token. Avalanche is just one of many EVM chains that exist.

While it does have a high level of activity, it is not doing enough to differentiate itself from the competition. Most applications on Avalanche were already on Ethereum first, some others are forks or similar to apps on other chains.

Institutions might have some products on Avalanche, but there is no reason for them to accumulate the AVAX token since it is not really seen as a store of value or have the network effects of ETH, SOL & BNB.

I have been exploring the avax ecosystem for some time, in terms of usability there are no issues with gas fees and transactions as Avax has the fastest confirmation rates. In my experience, the reason why the Avax network is unattractive is that many fraudulent projects have gotten away with huge funds and they are openly supported by Avax. For example, the last project I participated in was Blackhole, during the testnet to mainnet there were so many disappointments that they really showed that the Avax network was destroying itself from within.  Instead over instead of users withdrawing rewards, users are required to deposit a certain amount of money to open the reward vault, imagine who wants to take the reward worth $10 and have to deposit funds $100.

I don't remember which altcoin project succeeded under Avax, because it was very rare. So it's no wonder that Avax is sinking and not attractive to investors.

It should have a potential but Avax still a clone of those most of well-known coins like bnb, Solana and Ethereum.
I can't see any special from this coin compared to other coins that already exist and used by many.
They have lack of visibility that I think the reason why they can't grow much compared to other coins we mention here.

EVM compatibility makes it easier to migrate from the Ethereum ecosystem to Avalanche. However, Avalanche focuses on institutional and commercial use, while Solana processes up to 65,000+ transactions per second (TPS) at lower fees, making it more attractive for NFTs and DeFi.

They have a weak ecosystem. Avax is fundamentally good and almost the same as other top projects as L1, but I cannot deny that its development is slow in terms of ecosystem development, which is very sad, so user growth is also insignificant. If only there were many projects that attracted users, it would definitely be more crowded and scalability would be useful. but if scalability is high but there are no users, how can you test all that? This will also be a volume issue if there are many active users on their network.

They need to build more projects, in my opinion, but not projects that are just a short-lived hype. Long-term DeFillama data also shows that Avax has lower traffic compared to others.

I think it's really undervalued now, back in time I used to know about AVAX to be very good coin and I use it more sending some kind of crypto that I need to be delivered as fast as possible but today the presence of that coin has been reduced to a great extent, I don't even hear about it anymore, if not today that you have just brought it up.
 It's a good crypto no doubt but it's not getting attention any more, almost all altcoins are having issues this days, if there was an altseason their would have been a better condition for AVAX maybe it would have done so well that it will bring back it's valued or presence in the altcoins world.

Might be undervalued, but i wouldn't compare it to ethereum in any way, as it's not going there.

It had misleading marketing from the top. I am not sure why they thought they need to do that as tech was interesting on itself.

For example, they bought their ticketing partnership stunt and praising marketing lies from the "adopter" instead of actually getting adopted.

And decentralized? I am not sure how many tokens AvaLabs own and how much voting power they have these days, but in the past, numbers didn't make it sound "decentralized".

IMO, Avalanche is overvalued considering its onchain statistic ain't impressive. 7k fees generate in 24 hours showed how it's lacking of demand. There are not many big parties that used it for the tokenization purpose. So the only main purpose for Avax to exist is just for the speculation purpose.

No proper development, and all of volume is slowly going away. I don't even think this blockchain can even exist until the next decade. I meant their generate fees obviously telling us they're unsustain without getting subsidize by their own treasury.

Yes, OP Avalanche was very good and managed to solve some dilemmas in evm networks but somehow its growth faded. Less popular than other chains, maybe the problem is the poor marketing. I myself never use their chain anymore because there is no special need, there are rarely collaborations or big partnership projects in Avalanche. That's why Avalanche is underrated.

AVAX could have performed much better, but whatever was developed on it didn't stick. Neither as DeFi, nor as GameFi, nor as anything else. I suppose only an app called Arena provided AVAX enthusiasts with a decent source of income. I hadn't seen such a profitable project on AVAX in a long time, and this project's profitability had given AVAX a bit of a boost. For this network to gain momentum, projects that can sustain it need to emerge. Otherwise, I would say it’s a chain waiting to reach better places.

It those terms both avalanche and polkadot are similar, they are both Blockchains with potential, but they have failed to attract money from investors and catch the attention of the public in the long term.

For me I see it like any other hyped coin that failed to live up to expectations because they are ton of them in the market and with all the expected growth on them, its really absurd when you see it not doing well. As for ethereum I don't think any other altcoin can actually surpass it now looking at the liquidity and the margin at which it has grown in the crypto space, as of now I think after Bitcoin ethereum is the next big coin that comes to play.

Avalanche has been around for long. Imo, it has already gone past it's peak. Even though the price has been holding up good and down from recent high made in last few months ($30+), there is no real innovation going on over there. I think earlier last year, they tried to create a memecoin season out of thin air by doing presales and only get KOLs and people they know on the list leaving their largely community members. Those KOLs eventually dumped and moved on almost quickly from the launch dates.

I don't have any reason to buy and hold AVAX tokens, why would I think it is undervalued.

It was praised as ethereum killer with their superior TPS and subnets. Then L2 come along basically doing what avalanche has been doing and now nobody really care about avalanche anymore.

The only way to revive the ecosystem is to invite high processing dapps like perp and games. Their near instant finality and high TPS will be wasted without those good dapps and games.

Ethereum could be a good potential if the altseason happens in 2026 because throughout this cycle Ethereum did not get a significant price increase as the second largest alternative blockchain, but back to the development of Ethereum this year by its developers the problem of intropability and also the gass fee remains a problem even though it has been tried to be more friendly for users of their network, the article they will upgrade again, but will it be able to increase good adoption?

Avalanche is not the best altcoin right now, because there are many similar and better, some comments from others also represent why Avalanche is underestimated, in my personal opinion there is nothing special and differentiating from other L1, AVAX is'nt interesting for me.

Honestly, I believe that if a Blockchain has a huge Transactions per second rate and yet there is no enough volume to use all of it, then those TPS are being wasted. It is similar to what happens to Bitcoin Cash, it can handle much more transactions than Bitcoin in a shorter period of time, but it does not have the volume of Bitcoin, so it's speed for processing transactions is wasted and nobody cares about it at all.

The strength of Ethereum is how it evolves and adapts to the needs of the market and investors, not allowing Ethereum-killers to gain steam in the long term.

Well, Solana is not as decentralized as Avalanche. Sure it's fast and cheap to use, but it's nothing but an utterly-centralized Blockchain network. Same as Binance Chain. Avalanche proves to be a viable alternative to Ethereum as it focuses on decentralization with a unique approach to scalability. It might even perform better than chains with "horizontal scaling" (APTOS and SUI). Who knows?

I haven't seen real world tests of Avalanche's TPS, but I bet it will outmatch its competitors. The 3-tier approach to scalability is genius because it divides the network into different layers without compromising on decentralization and censorship-resistance. AVAX is undervalued, imho. We'll see what happens in the long run.
