17 years ago, Bitcoin blockchain began with the Bitcoin Genesis Block that was mined by Satoshi Nakamoto.

On January 3rd 2009, the Bitcoin network was created when Satoshi Nakamato (the project's mysterious creator) mined the “Genesis” block. The 50 bitcoin coinbase reward is unredeemable, as it was omitted from the transaction database. This means any attempt to spend it would be rejected by the network. Whether this was intentional or not still remains unknown.
A total of 0.00 BTC ($0.00) were sent in the block with the average transaction being 0.0000 BTC ($0.00). Satoshi earned a total reward of 50.00 BTC $0.00. The reward consisted of a base reward of 50.00 BTC $0.00 with an additional 0.0000 BTC ($0.00) reward paid as fees of the 1 transactions which were included in the block.

For anyone especially newbies who don't know, it is a headline on The Times newspaper on that day.

This is the main point, Satoshi message was prophetic and we have seen how powerful it has manifested. I knew a lot of people discarded the message and the timing with disdain, some say a lot of scornful thing about Bitcoin but one thing that have remained valid is that Bitcoin is a revolution that have prevailed. If I look back to where Bitcoin started from and how strong it has gotten, I get motivated and optimistic about the future which is definitely bright for all of us that are holding.

Happy 17th anniversary to bitcoin, a day Satoshi Nakamoto single-handedly mined the genesis block. Today is very significant day for bitcoiners because the mining of genesis block gave rise to the mining of the 1st block which happened 6 days later. Just like a saying ''the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step'. The mining of the genesis block is what took bitcoin to where it is today.

How time flies, when we join Bitcoin, we really don't know what's going to happened in the future. Some of us here could have been in the market for 10+ years, while there could some who just starting their journey. And there are still some people who still deny Bitcoin and think it is a scam despite what we have been through. And if I'm not mistaken, a few years back, there was a inspired Satochip limited edition hardware wallet. But not sure if they will do the same for this years' anniversary. So we should be looking forward for another 17 years right?

So far 54.47568145BTC have been "donated" to the Genesis block (or whatever the purpose is to send and very very likely immobilize those coins, bloating the UTXO set). Well... hooray!?

Current balance at time of this post according to combo(PubKey of Genesis block's coinbase) descriptor of my Genesis block watch-only wallet, including the unspendable 50BTC of coinbase tx: 104.47568145BTC (546sat pending/not yet confirmed).

This may differ slightly from what mempool.space or bitcoindata.science displays because the combo() descriptor^{see below} accounts for all address types (except Taproot, IIRC).
