IMO, being a porn addict doesn't harm anyone else but that person so if that is what they wanted then let them be it. Not everyone who watches porn is an addict. It's just some fantasies that we may not see in our real world and not interested to do with our partner in IRL. I'm not saying that everyone who watches porn is an addict, some are able to consume it in moderation without it affecting themselves nor their loved ones. The problem only begins when you use it compulsively, like as a coping mechanism for something that happened in your life, for example a break-up gone bad or just depression in general.

Like drug addiction, the user will, in this situation, be completely dependent on porn as a mechanism to provide relief from the stress they aren't willing to face head-on.

I'm speaking as a former addict myself (been clean for over 7 years now), it fucked my views on women and sex so badly, when I look back now to my addicted days, I always wondered how I wasn't disgusted by how I viewed women as objects and not human beings.

Again, I agree with you, not everyone who watches porn will become an addict, there are some people who are able to watch it and live normal lives, and to them I say: you do you mate. Drug is bit different and it completely mess up our brain and we lose who we are once we become an addict but porn is not like that as far as I know and to be honest at the end it just leads to some kind of guilt, or atleast how it used to be when I can't get a good sleep without watching porn but those days are gone and now I can differentiate what porn is and it doesn't represent the reality. It's not right to compare porn and drug addiction. By using drugs you may harm people around you or you can make crime without even realizing it as you was under influence of drugs.
But every addiction is bad when things is getting out of control. No matter it's porn, gambling or junk food addiction.

For me, intimacy is something that shouldn't be downplayed to the point of any random person getting to view them. Even for the present generation, anyone that's a frequent visitor to those kind of site always suffers from it.

This is the internet, it's a free-for-all, the adult industry is a multi-billion-dollar industry, and this is part of so-called women's empowerment. They are free to do whatever they want on OnlyFans as long as there is a market to satisfy their needs.

I noticed same for myself and started placing my phone away from my side and using my Laptop majorly for work. These things start like a joke until you're addicted and end up with relatively low productivity accross responsibilities.

Back to the topic, OF is just another entertainment medium, doesn't change much to what the younger ones are exposing themselves to at the moment. If they do not watch it at OF, they would at other adult channels, in Pornhub, you only need to click that you're 18 or older, like who came to the site and would not click it to gain access?

Though, it seems to be there is a difference between the business model of Only fans and Pornhub and similar webpages for adult content, it seems Only fans offers and more direct way to monetize then Pornub. And OF also admits content which does not have anything to do with pornography, actually the original purpose of Only fans was to get SFW artists a way to get revenue for their work, similar to what happens with Patreon, but since the pandemic stroke the world things changed and women started to use OF to sell pictures of them naked and in lingerie.
