We are certainly connected to Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram or other social media, but here too we have to use these social media with sufficient caution.  From real experience, I am trying to discuss several things below that can initially be assumed to be a scam.

•If suddenly an unknown person sends a personal message on WhatsApp or Telegram that if you invest in their site, they will give you 100% profit and the user can withdraw that profit every day, then initially you have to assume that they are a scammer and no communication can be made with them.

•If they keep putting pressure on all these accounts by sending messages to their accounts that you should do it now or the sooner you do it, the faster you will get profit, then you have to think that there is a problem here too.

•Sometimes scammers try to present themselves in a smarter way, they basically try to introduce themselves by hiding their identity and introducing some people whom people will trust, but I would say that until it can be verified and verified, you cannot actually fall into their trap.

•If they are more interested in talking about private key or phrase, then they should be blocked immediately because this is the easiest way to identify a scammer.

•Again, many times fraudsters share some links in their personal messages where if you enter and provide some information, the device access will be given to them. By doing this, they can steal your bank account or any other important information, so you cannot enter such links.

•The most important thing about accounts is that it is better to avoid these messages from people we do not know but they will tell us about investment or other things through personal messages because the CEO of a project or any other member will never tell anyone about investment in their platform through personal messages or show any other lure.

I don't like your advices. Care to know why?

Your brain is not on the same level as others, you are smart and that's because you know the dangers, when you are trying to advice others always try to consider those who are not smart at all.

This is why I will rather choose to advice people to not give attention to strangers at all, as a beginner in this crypto space for example, they have no past experience, the more time you give strangers the likelihood of surrendering to them.

The more you listen 👂 to what a stranger have to say, the likelihood that you will become their puppet.

So my dear, I would rather advise people to not give room to strangers at all, most of the strangers that I have talked to online all have a big goal in mind, it always end up with them trying to use me one way or the other, not just errands style but trying to rob me of my money, which is why I have come to a nasty conclusion that strangers hardly have your best interests at heart.

They are always heartless and looking for a weak point to use on you. It is ten times safer to avoid or ignore them totally.

So why did you reply without reading my post completely, you wrote the information that I gave in my post in your post as you wish. You know these things, you avoid them, but if those who do not know that such frauds are committed know about these things, I hope there will be no problem. Fraudsters will not only try to cheat you or me, fraudsters will cheat anyone they get the chance to cheat, in that case, if you are careful in advance, then there is nothing wrong with it. I have seen many such incidents where a link is shared through spam mail and when a user clicks on it and gives some information, he gives access to his device to the fraudster without his knowledge.
These people do such things because they are not careful in advance.
So let those who do not know at all know.

Yeah, OP gave basic rules which can be found in many places in the web, all are correct.

I almost was caught in a scam like this. Someone was trying to impersonate someone from the team of an ICO, and I nearly sent him some money to get a discount.
We should always double check anyone who texts us, and never believe in discounts or free money or whatever..... when it is too easy to be true, it usually isn't true

Just to add on the extensive list you created, you can also check the domain of a certain website if a scammer invites you to visit it.

Code:
whois.com
https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/upload

You can use the link above to check the origin of the domain if it was bought and created recently. Additionally, you can use the second link to check if a file or link is infected with malware for extra line of defense.

As a rule of thumb, if a scammer asks you to invest into a project that offers large amounts of interests, then avoid it all at cost. If something is too good to be true, then it is TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.

Lastly in the crypto space, prevention is always better than cure. If someone approaches you to download a file or telling you that they have free BTC, then avoid them. Nothing is free in this world and you would only subject yourself to tons of risks by entertaining them.

In the first place, there's no way I'm going to allow the conversation go pass that level of introducing an investment idea to me as a random person.

Once you message me with a write-up that looks prewritten, I will directly ghost you and won't proceed to listening to any other thing you have to say. When you  dealing with anything digital, you should in the first place be ready for attacks across all your media handle, the best way not to be vulnerable at it is to threat any investment related messages as spam and potential fraudulent initiative.

How about when the scammer comes in the form of someone you know? It's not always that scammers come as strangers; sometimes they hack people's social media accounts and impersonate people. If the Facebook account of a friend or relative messages you, talking about an investment, would you know it's a stranger?
That is why it's a must that people should be smart if they want to protect themselves.
Spotting a scam does not require you to have Einstein-level IQ. Just be informed about the red flags. Knowledge is all it takes. I can spot any petty scam from a mile away. A scam has to be very sophisticated to fool me, and even then, along the way, I will most likely spot the red flags.
All that people need is to be able to identify the red flags and that is part of what OP is trying to point out.

OP is right, all the tips he gave have been used repeatedly by most scammers to scam a lot of people and yet it's still used by same but different scammers and they still get victims from those tips that may look so simple to you and if some people are not careful, they can be victims too with just a small twist that the scammers are going to add to these already known tips. Some twists they can add is that, they will go as far as doing some digging to get more information about you and when they have get so much information about you that is when they will message you as if they are your old time friend or q family relative and once you start believing their lies, they will execute their plans and that's when you will realize it was a scam.

Scammers can use many scam methods but there are resources to learn about most common scam types, then have better ability to avoid such scams.

The cryptocurrency scambook.
Collection of comprehensive guides on identify and avoid scam projects.

Scammers are pretty stupid and if we are not too stupid, are very careless, we will not be victims of scammers. Learn and be more knowledgeable, better prepared and act more carefully, scammers can not scam us.

Another thing to add is that scammers create website to that offers investment of some sorts that is too good to be true then that's the pointer which means that it is a fraud or scam. Most of it are in email posing as customer support or a representative of a company like binance or different website and include link to a fake clone of the original website. Anyway OP, all of your tips are already been discussed msny times like the ones I just explain about fake apps and websites.

Sorry if my response feels like over reaction, I just happened to know about victims who got used because they gave attention to strangers on social media, what I was trying to say is many people would have escaped from scammers if they never listed to what they have to say.

I was expecting something like, adjusting every social media accounts to private, so that no strangers can send PM. The points that OP dropped, from number 1 to number 5 can all be avoided simply by adjusting who can send you PMs, no talking or texting strangers can keep one away from these dangers.

•The most important thing about accounts is that it is better to avoid these messages from people we do not know but they will tell us about investment or other things through personal messages because the CEO of a project or any other member will never tell anyone about investment in their platform through personal messages or show any other lure.
That is an obvious scam attempt if they've told us how they've found an investment that made them money. From there, you should give them a solid ignore and block so that they won't bother you anymore. But if you have already figured it out and you've got some spare time to spend for them, you'll just play them out until both of you wastes each other's time. These CEOs or owners of investments won't have time if they're real per se. And since they're not real, they've got a lot of time to chat with you and try to scam your money.

This is a good reminder that most scams don’t start with obvious lies, but with urgency, pressure, and fake familiarity. If an offer sounds too easy or comes through a random private message, that alone is already a red flag. In crypto and investing, protecting your keys, your data, and your skepticism matters more than chasing fast profits.

I guess most of the users now are learning to recognized those but sometimes a perfect sync on some legit one make them camouflage and still get away with it so better be cautious still.

•If suddenly an unknown person sends a personal message on WhatsApp or Telegram that if you invest in their site, they will give you 100% profit and the user can withdraw that profit every day, then initially you have to assume that they are a scammer and no communication can be made with them.
If anyone message you that their is a investment that will give you 100 percent profits without any risk involved in it, then you should know that the person might likely scam you, because any investment you are going into, then you should know there is risk involved in it. Also why will anyone even ask you to invest in their site and you will also do that? The first question you are suppose to ask is that why there site?

•Sometimes scammers try to present themselves in a smarter way, they basically try to introduce themselves by hiding their identity and introducing some people whom people will trust, but I would say that until it can be verified and verified, you cannot actually fall into their trap.
You should know scammers won’t reveal their identity, so you just have to be smart, never trust anyone you see on social media until you properly verify it that they are real. Anyone can impersonate someone on social media, so whenever you are dealing with anyone, then make sure you are dealing with the right person.

•If they are more interested in talking about private key or phrase, then they should be blocked immediately because this is the easiest way to identify a scammer.
Why will anyone even request for your sensitive information, anyone doing that is going to scam you, so if anyone send you a message and the person is requesting for your sensitive information’s, don’t just waste your time replying the person.

Great points!

I’d add that one simple trick is to check the project’s official website or social media channels before engaging, if they never reach out publicly about investments, that’s a red flag.

Even a quick Google search for scam reports can save a lot of headache.

I guess most of the users now are learning to recognized those but sometimes a perfect sync on some legit one make them camouflage and still get away with it so better be cautious still.
But what are the people most prone to these frauds, scams, and hacks are the ones who are starting, especially those not really techy.
Even if we let's say the internet is really convenient to everyone now and easy to access for most people, there are still people who really lack basic knowledge or education on how to protect themselves.
The best example is the most common fraud, like someone asking for your private keys, seed phrases, passwords, even crypto or non crypto related.

Now, a few years ago, fraudsters cheated differently, now they have updated and changed their cheating techniques. In a few years, we will see that they are trying to cheat in more new ways, so we have to be smarter than the fraudsters and always think ahead.
Great points!

I’d add that one simple trick is to check the project’s official website or social media channels before engaging, if they never reach out publicly about investments, that’s a red flag.

Bro, your reply indicates an AI post, so I checked your post and saw that you used 100% AI, be careful with these things.

Lately, there have been a lot of crypto scams in my country, where the victims are older people, especially retirees.
Usually, someone calls them, introduces themselves as an employee of their bank, and offers them the opportunity to invest their spare money in crypto and earn.
Older people often fall for this trick because they have been taught to respect institutions and officials.
In such situations, you should always call the bank and check.

I don't like your advices. Care to know why?

Your brain is not on the same level as others, you are smart and that's because you know the dangers, when you are trying to advice others always try to consider those who are not smart at all.
Op is trying to remind and educate especially beginners, that's why he chose the B&H Board to start this topic because generally beginners have more integrity here. There are no smart people here, we are still in the learning stage and reminding each other to avoid anything that can cause risks, one of which is as stated in the points mentioned in the topic. Often people fall for Phishing sites because they are tempted by the promise of massive rewards. This type of fraud remains a mainstay of fraudsters, and they often target crypto users.
I think Op is not positioning himself as a teacher, but rather as a reminder to fellow forum members. After all, it's okay to share personal experiences here as long as the context is useful to other members.
